YSL Manifesto - How Many Guys Have Smelled This ?

Firstly, when I smell this I get a combo of lavender (which is not a listed note !) and vanilla.
It reminds me of a barber-shop style fragragrance because of those notes and more specifically it reminds me of a certain male fragrance, (but I cannot work out which one ?). Or maybe it's a womens one I'm thinking of...(?)...all very confusing !
Next question : Why did something that only came out in late 2012 get pulled so soon ??? I cannot believe that this fragrance flopped, so I'm guessing it's something to do with raw materials that have been banned ?
Thanks for any help/info regarding the short life-span of this fragrance and any help trying to find out which fragrance it reminds me of.

Could be the materials but it's a stupid name for a fragrance. That can't have helped. It's also a feminine fragrance, so you might be better off moving the thread in to the general or feminine discussion forum.

EDIT: If it is discontinued it looks like a recent decision, not something done soon after it was launched. The YSL website still has a page for it: https://www.yslbeauty.co.uk/fragrance/for-her/manifesto/manifesto/166YSL.html

Manifesto was fairly popular amongst women 40 and under. Not LVEB or Flowerbomb levels of popular, but it was popular enough that it had its own following. I didn’t actually realize that it had a lavender note, disclosed or otherwise. I never tried it myself, unfortunately, I wish I had.

I mentioned in your other thread about it what I have heard other people compare Manifesto to, but I can’t confirm myself because I haven’t tried it.

But if you are looking specifically for something with lavender, YSL Libre (all versions), and Mon Guerlain both have that lavender and vanilla combo. I happen to be wearing Libre Edt today. And I own mon guerlain as well. MG is softer and more feminine, while libre has a slight unisex feel to it. But both are very popular, and I doubt either will be discontinued anytime soon. Another lavender fragrance I like is Initio Rehab, and that one is definitely unisex. It has vanilla and I believe tobacco as well.

Never heard of this. Looks Fem. I for one am tired of the lavender vanilla combo. I don't gravitate towards it and in some way reminds me of a dryer sheet which I also don't like. I'm sure its a great fragrance being YSL, but not one I would seek to sample.

I tend to agree. I find Jicky hard to wear, but actually lavender is not listed at all as a note in this perfume. Perhars it's the cassis that somehow confuses my brain ?
