6of1: Thank you for the tip and I ordered Quorum Silver in ebay, it will be here in the next couple of days and I am looking forward to try it. I really hope she likes it and, at the same time, saciates my cravings for Quorum . That would be the perfect consensus!!!! I also order Fendi Theorema Uomo, any of you have any opinion on it?

After so many wearings, I finally am ready to declare my top 5:
1. azzaro pour homme
2. azzaro pour homme
3. azzaro pour homme
4. azzaro pour homme
5. azzaro pour homme

rest other frags everybody has mentioned. I would recommend fransesco smalto PH, quorum, z 14, vc&a + tsar, drakkar noir, grey flannel, kouros, bijan, one man show and giorgio for men. But I can probably live without them. I cant without azzaro pour homme.

2. Davidoff
3. Kouros
4. Salvador Dali Pour Homme
5. Fahrenheit (original formula)

These are not necessarily my FAVORITE fragrances which are also powerhouses (that list would include PS by Paul Sebastian, Lauder For Men, Van Cleef & Arpels, Givenchy Gentleman).

My wife would pick up practically the same top 5 I do, the only difference is that she would replace Quorum by Lapidus pH, if that is of any help Nassenmann

As with all of us, this fluctuates somewhat for me, but right now:

1. Bijan
2. Quorum
3. Ted Lapidus
4. Salvador Dali
5. Paco, forever, Paco

Next week it'll be different, but the same ten or fifteen tend to rotate in and out for me.

Nice thread! Just joined!

My top 5 (of the ones I own):

- Versace L'homme
- Lapidus PH
- Quorum
- Giorgio BH for men
- Bogart PH (Bogart Bogart is also good, like a fresher and louder Paco Rabanne PH version!)

(Mind that I never owned Kouros, Bijan, Dali PH, Joop!, Cleef though I know what they smell like)

Also I would add that the lovely ones Paco Rabanne PH and Azzaro PH in their current formulations are not considered by me to be powerhouse fragrances.

I bought a few perfumes this month so there are changes in my list.
Two newcomers: Van Cleef & Arpels pH and Basile Uomo
Dropping from the list: Witness and Zizanie, not that I do not like those two, but I have to make room for the new guys and somebody has to pay the piper.
There was also a sligh rearrangement among the remaining players

Starting lineup:

Van Cleef & Arpels pH
One Man Show
Paco Rabanne pH
Sashka Black
Quorum

In the bench

Basile Uomo
Sung Homme
Krizia Uomo
Fendi Uomo
Lapidus pH
Tsar
Halston 1-12
Drakkar Noir
Himalaya
Azzaro pH

My top five hasn't changed much in a while:

Kouros
Drakkar Noir
Quorum
Van Cleef & Arpels PH
Azzaro Pour Homme

If you consider Paco Rabanne a powerhouse, then I'd replace Azzaro with Paco, and make Azzaro my #6. I'm still on the fence on whether Paco is a true powerhouse, though there's no question it's a true classic that influenced the powerhouse frags of the 70s and 80s.

Mazzolari Lui dropped out of my top five a while ago, but Giorgio is still way up there, right on the fringes, at #6 or 7.

It's funny, I would never call Azzaro PH a powerhouse. On me it's a very discrete fragrance, whereas Paco Rabanne is much stronger. For that matter, I question Grey Flannel being called a powerhouse, there's something altogether too refined - so I have removed it from my list.
My current top five:

1) Kouros
2)Lapidus Pour Homme
3) Givenchy Gentleman
4) Van Cleef and Arpels pour Homme
5) One Man Show / Witness

it might be different next week...

I agree with Scent, Paco Rabanne pH is more of a powerhouse than Azzaro pH IMO. Azzaro is almost timid if compared with Paco. On the other hand Paco is kinda refined with comparison to most powerhouses, but that refinement does not diminish its attitude.
Santino: Thank you for your tip.

My Top 5

Giorgio for Men
Polo Green
Paco Rabanne
Bogart pour Homme
Giorgio Red for Men

... and while I never have heard it officially classified as a powerhouse scent... I would nominate Imperial from Crown Perfumery. That would really top my list.

About a week ago I bought Basile Uomo and it is rapidly climbing up to the top, and I think it should be among my top 5, but replacing what????

At this moment my top 5 would be:

- Kouros (vintage)
- Van Cleef & Arpels pour homme
- Vermeil for men
- Polo (vintage)
- Bogart pour homme

Top 10

- Azzaro pour homme Intense (vintage)
- Lapidus pour homme
- Sung Homme
- Oscar de la Renta pour lui
- Giorgio

(I do not consider eg. current Drakkar Noir, Paco Rabanne pour homme, Montana Parfum d'Homme, Roger & Gallet Open, Balenciaga, Tsar, Givenchy Gentleman and Lomani as powerhouse fragrances!)

Krizia Uomo, Quorum and Francesco Smalto pour homme would tie my No. 11

Top 5 (as of today):

1) Balenciaga Pour Homme
2) Bel Ami (vintage)
3) Anteaus (vintage)
4) Ettore Bugatti (1st edition)
5) Azzaro (vintage)

I have a bottle of Moods by Krizia Uomo on the way, which may or may not crack my top 5...

In no particular order

M Micallef Sashka Black.
S. Dali pour Homme.
Ungaro III.
Basile Uomo
Krizia Uomo.

Honorable Mention

Giorgio Beverly Hills
Lapidus pour Homme.
Quorum.
Vermeil for Men.
Francisco Smalto pour Homme.

But how could I leave out such gems like VC&A pour Homme, Tsar, Gianfranco Ferre for man, One Man Show, Worth for men, Jacomo de Jacomo, Yatagan, Oscar de la Renta per Lui, Jaguar Original, Fendi Uomo, Drakkar Noir, Pino Silvestre and Paco Rabanne. Not even a top 20 would make justice to such an array of beautiful perfumes.

And do not let me start with my top 20 no-powerhouses LOL

@PC It surprises me that I don't see any mentioning of Sung Homme anymore, lol! It was in your 2010 Top 5 and in your 2011 Top 10.
I thought you really loved that powerhouse?

Since I see that this thread is rekindled, here I go...

Salvador Dali pour Homme
Gilgamesh2003's quote of "An electrical fire in a mausoleum." says it all...

Macassar
The only one combining chivalry and brusqueness in a way similar to using a gauntlet to deliver a duelling challenge...

One Man Show
Cause I've been a soloist all my life...

Davidoff
What other fragrance combines every powerhouse aspect in "toxic waste green"?

Jacomo de Jacomo
Dark doesn't even begin to describe it...

Slayer: I do love Sung Homme, Actually I was debating whether to put it in my top 5 or top 10 list, but then for some reason it got lost in the shuffle.
As a matter of fact I will be wearing it today.

@Slayerized

"But Moods is by no means a powerhouse (imo) as isn't [sic] Azzaro when it is not vintage."

1) Well, from what I've read, it is:

http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Krizia/Moods-by-Krizia-Uomo-2838.html

http://pourmonsieurblog.blogspot.ca/search/label/Krizia

"Moods represents Old School Power at its finest. Its velvety gold blend of rose, tobacco, patchouli and oakmoss has never been matched, and its beauty is from another world. However, don't let its silkiness mislead you into thinking this isn't a powerful scent. Moods has a lot of testicular swagger, which it gets from plenty of macho patchouli and oakmoss."

2) When I put Azzaro as my #5 choice, I was referring to the vintage incarnation. (now corrected)

Anything else not to your liking?

@flattop U seem a little offended looking at your silly last remark..........It was just my opinion (why did I add 'IMO' in my sentence you think?) as this is a forum and as I own (a decant of) Moods myself and on the projection part this is (IMO! and not because something I have read somewhere.........I mean someone also says it is softer than Givenchy Gentleman........is GG a powerhouse? No, not at all, after 10 mins imo) no powerhouse of whatsoever (the opening is maybe but after that it settles down quite considerable not to be quailfied as a powerhouse imo). If you think otherwise, fine with me of course, that's why this is a forum on which people have different opinions.
