Today is my one year membership anniversary.
I have used basenotes for three years or more but didn't join until this date last year.

What milestones are you coming up on? 5 years? 10 years? 100 bottles? Etc.

I thought it would be fun to post quirky accomplishments or rare acquisitions you're proud of.

No spam posts, please.

Coming up on 500 posts (I didn't use the forums much until recently; tried a few years ago but stopped for whatever reason...)

In August, will be five years since I joined.

And also will probably hit 100 bottles this year considering: I'm at 81 at the moment, I have a handful of planned purchases, and I'm in a very big buy mode for fragrances at the moment and have bought 43 so far this year.

Will be 7 years for me later this October.

Finding my favorite scent - black gamestone by SHL 777.
Adding creation-e to my collection was a nice touch when i was obsessed with boozy fragrances. (one with paper label that roja was dumping so many of his inventory to rebrand)

Another odd milestone for me is that I almost have every letter of the alphabet covered by a fragrance now. Still need V and Z, and I find Z rather unlikely since I won't buy something I don't love just for the name.

For whatever reason I own many Bs and Cs though....

Also recently bought my first decant of Zoologist Bat. I prefer full bottles so am unlikely to buy many more, but since it is discontinued and hard to find I pulled the trigger on it.

A few very approximate list of milestone and/or prospective schedules, terms, reference moments/dates will probably include but not be limited to:

- surpassing the 200 single fragrance, not backups/multiple bottles, matched scented products from one fragrance line mark within the personal BN statistics

- surpassing the same situation, but this time with a grand total of over 500, then eventually 1000 bottles both among the aforementioned backups, but also samples/decants, further individual scents etc.

- focusing not just on a quantitative increase of posts alone, but if possible also a qualitative one, with additional, more interesting, diversified, better substantiated info, data and non fictional writing as to how fragrance does and might relate in various less common and less known ways to several aspects of history, culture, economy, society, traditions as well as innovation and so on,

- but also less quantifiable within BN posts and reviews (though leading at some point to more of these as well) perhaps becoming familiar with more single fragrances and newer as well as more traditional fragrance houses

- turning more BN acquaintances from just online to offline as well, especially once the current restrictions, limitations and interdiction decrease, ideally when these are fully overturned

- becoming familiar with even more info, specialist/technical knowledge, insight about fragrances hat may in turn lead to an increase of possible future BN milestones, along with further on-topic and also off topic outputs and contributions on BN as well as beyond

- the 15th year anniversary of BN membership,

- related to most, if not (nearly) all of the points and aspects mentioned above, sourcing both offline and online new (er) as well as more established fragrance retailers that might come up with additional fragrance information sources and references, able to leave a personal impression good enough to become a personal insider tip/recommendation, even in the long run

are merely some of the most likely, but by far not only possible upcoming BN milestones personally imaginable and feasible in a not so remote future.

I joined 8 years ago earlier this month. Was just looking around for one or two bottles of something to replace the one bottle of Hugo Elements that ran out. I had never even heard of the big ones like Le Male,1 Million, or Acqua di Gio at the time.

8 years. 320+ full bottles added. About 2,000 tragrances worn since then. But my tastes have changed very little - most of the ones I loved upon first wearing, I still love. And the ones I thought were terrible then, I still do.

I'm a long time basenoter, which is not a glory, but an indication of time's flying. When my daughter asked me to help choosing her next scent - maybe that was moving. Kind of a sign I can pass on the love of fragrances, the smell of this beautiful world around us.

I do have an achievement in another field, but I'm not sure I have still enought time for the whole world (and you as well) to see it. But now mission number one is staying alive, no achievement is as important as this.

Almost 1 1/2 years on here

Almost 5 Bottles (only really wear 2 of them often though)

Almost 500 colognes tried (might've reached this one)

Almost 250 posts

I visited the forum for 3 or 4 years before joining and just noticed that I have been a member since 2005 so a milestone of 15 years.

A big milestone for me was when I shifted from buying designers exclusively to buying more "niche" type stuff. This also coincided with my introduction to decants - a huge game changer. That was about a year ago, when I picked up Tuscan Leather and Royal Oud decants from N.Cal (thanks again!) and I haven't looked back since.

Another one would be when I got to the point that I could wear a different fragrance every day for a month without repeating, and still have a few left over that I couldn't even fit in. I'm hovering around 40 bottles right now, which seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Wow, how time flies. A decade milestone Feb 27th 2010 I joined this site, after lurking for about 3 years. Tswetcoff from Youtube is who really got me to join, as he had roughly around 10k subs back then, and was the biggest reviewer on Youtube at that time.

I can't believe I've been here over 10 years already. My fragrance collection has grown from about 40 bottles to over 350, with buying and selling, or swapping much more in between. Here's to another 10 years.. but I've slowed down my purchasing significantly and buy more what I really want, and less what I don't need.

Almost 3 years as a member, lurker for the same amount of time.

Milestone is successfully using up a full bottle this year so far. I rotate what I wear so much, I never thought I would accomplish it.

Well it's been over ten and half years. And one thing I've learnt is no matter how great I find a scent there is always another one on the horizon. This keeps my obsession in check when I think a scent is so good that I need multiple bottles when in fact I don't.

I’d feel the same way had I not met (vintage) Bel Ami years ago ;)

No real milestones, but its been fun to witness my nose/preferences evolve over time.

I’ve also met some great people here over the years; this is a very special community :)

I joined in 2012, but I think I lurked without signing up for at least a year or two before that.
I have too many posts.
I am contemplating the possibility of not buying any fragrance this year. I think my last purchase was in September or October. I wonder whether I can go a year. A pandemic lockdown will probably help.

Inching closer each day to 5,000 fragrances

Inching closer to Hednic

Will be at official 500th fragrance sometime this year, although fragrances not in the inventory and total back up bottles etc already pushes mine closer to 600...

On another note, I'm glad to see the Vintage fragrances I bought thread going strong since epapsiou and I started them.

My collection is much better than it was last year. I'm celebrating this milestone very often by wearing a perfume I love.

I want to explore as much as possible, to test as much as possible, to buy the perfumes that I like the most, to train my nose, to become a connaisseur.
5-10-20 years? I don't know.
The journey is the destination.

I've actually been here since 2002. Was active then life happened, moved, lost login info, then created this account much later in 2007. Not sure I've hit any type of milestone, but I enjoy like-minded folks here.

Birthday milestone, nearly decade collecting fragrances, my very first actual purchase, my first purchase with a premium (silver collar DHI), joining as a BN plus member, first started collecting Creed 9 years ago, first started collecting Chanel 8 years ago, first started collecting Guerlain 5 years ago, decision to formally begin sampling and purchasing vintage (Non-Creed) fragrances, the start of friendships of very specific individuals here.
