Morning all!

l have a couple of days off, & it's a wet & windy day here, so a day of pottering indoors is in store. l'm sampling Accident a la Vanille by Jousset Parfums. l remember a lot of positive comments about this one in a thread a while back, but l can't seem to find it now. lf anyone can direct me to it, l'd be grateful!

Parfums de Marly Delina

I won a bottle as part of ScentXplore. Finally sitting down with Delina to see what it is after hearing so much about it.

On me - this starts with a blast of highly peppered tropical fruits. Only the fruit part is expected (the lychee).
I think the rhubarb and nutmeg notes are blending to give me that impression of "pepper."
I can see this top note being very divisive.

Sadly, the top and mid go sour on me in a way that I don't like very much.
This is a problem I have with many fruit scents.
The spiciness makes it more tolerable to me.
Overall, I don't find these opening acts unwearable, just not something I'd reach for.
It is interesting enough that I could see myself growing to like the opening more.

The tartness lingers as Delina goes into its creamy vanillic musky floral (lily-of-valley and rose mostly) drydown.
The base on this is nice.
Not Shalimar levels of nice, but something I don't mind having on my body for an extended period.

Would I have bought it if I smelled it in the store? Nope.
But I'm happy to have it in my collection.

I am *almost* over my flu...wow it kicked my a*s. I kept getting back and losing and getting back and losing my smell. I have it like 45% now so I splashed this on. I am fairly certain I got this, from a sample, at the Chicago BN meet up with Quarry. I tiptoed over to the Guerlain counter to buy some Shalimar Body Cream and they gifted me a sample of this:

It is sweet! But a rich, well done sweet.

I am still coughing/blowing my nose all day but the amount of stuff coming out is going down. Fever is gone and the night sweats (which were happening every night) have become sporadic. The night sweats left me with a mild rash on my chest/shoulders - I am taking some antihistamines to clear them up. They itch mildly. Ugh - what a mess...I just want to feel normal soon.

Hugs all around

Good morning all. (((@mikeperez23))) I am glad you are slightly less miserable. It sounds like you had such a tough flu...I feel I should go stock up on Kleenex in sympathy.

We've had a couple nights of very hard freezes. I look at my pear tree in dismay as it had already put out most (but not all, the cagey thing) of it's blooms. From here on out: I demand spring. HA HA. I've noticed that the weather does not listen to human desires....

I go in phases with my fragrance....I had my Paris phase 15 years ago and been looking at a collection of Eau de Printemps versions for a decade. I'd think "Why?" and get stuck on it's slightly lipstick note and shake my head.

Everything comes back around.

Poor Mike! So glad you're marginally better. And poor Kiliwia! Bet you're sick of snow.

It's cold here too, for the South, as for Shycat and Robin. Hard freezes the past three nights, killing off those green things that poked their heads up. Turned my lawn from green back to brown. It's kind of like the reverse of an Indian summer in the autumn.

SotE - Rochas Femme.

Jon, I just bought the exact same bottle of Femme. A U.S. seller had a whole load of them for sale, and I sussed out that it was the 1989 version, just prior to the 1990 reformulation that massacred it. It's so gorgeous I went back for a second bottle. I marvel at how a big batch of old bottles like this could have sat around in some warehouse for all these years. It hasn't hurt the juice though, which is lush with that marvelous Roudnitska skank.

Today I'm flipping back to my current fascination, L'Ombre Dans L'Eau by Diptyque. Weeds and roses. I might be developing a slight obsession with blackcurrant, both the leaf and the bud. It seems like the leaf has a slightly floral tone, a bit akin to violet, and the bud smells like a cross between fruit, marijuana and tomato stems -- a sort of vegetal skank. Combine that with a very shy, non-bosomy rosebud, and it simply intrigues me.

I actually have a back-up bottle myself and it is as fresh as a daisy !. I never understood why they wrecked it with a cumin overdose when it was damn near perfect the way it was

I was overjoyed when the 'Pick a Random Fragrance' function chose Kerosene Winter of 99 for me this morning. It goes well well with the torrential rain we're experiencing right now.

I'm definitely staying in today because driving conditions are hazardous. I'll do some puttering around the house: iron linens, rearrange books, cook garbanzo beans in the Instant pot for hummus. I might even take a stab at cleaning my sister's Keurig. All mindless meditative work that I find so relaxing.

Can’t believe I’ve never tried the EDT. I’m going to make a special trip!

If you get the opportunity to try the vintage Eau De Cologne don't pass it up. It is a completely different animal with civet / nitro-musks and an absolutely glorious experience from top to base. I dropped the cash on a full bottle without hesitation :)

I wish my lunch break wasn’t over…You guys and gals have posted some marvelous sounding frags!

I’m currently rolling in my rut of greens and chypres. Today, it’s 31RC. It’s like a new pair of shoes. I have to break it in, along with 19, my new love!

I’m thankful to have mild weather, unlike so many of you who seem to be in winter/spring purgatory.
have a wonderful rest of your day/evening, wherever you are in the world, my treasured BN family. 💚💚💚

I’m too immature, mentally, for civet. Hehe, yes, really. I shy away from EdCs because I just have trouble shelling out for fleeting frags. I need to grow up and get over it, but they just disappear so fast!

I guarantee this one doesn't !. It is easily as tenacious as the current EDT (y)
