Hello all! It's been a rough two weeks so I've been gone a bit but I'm back! I hope to start posting here regularly again

SOTD today is Song of Aubrac from St. Clair Scents. I meant to try a new sample I got today, Petrichor Plains by Mihan Aromatics, but I think the weather is still too cold and I didn't get anything but a vague soup of aromachemicals that I'm assuming is the base notes.

Dejected, I went back to something I already knew I could wear in this weather. I love that Song of Aubrac is such a springlike perfume and yet holds up well to the cold. I double-sprayed today instead of the usual one and I smell the crisp grassy green head notes much more than I did before. It's lovely. I originally said I wasn't considering a full bottle but look at me now, this actually might be one of my all-time favorite green fragrances. Oops.

SOTE is my grandmother’s vintage No. 19.

The first photo is of my maternal grandmother (all of my vintage Chanels, Hermes and Diors were hers) and grandfather (plus uncle, aunt, and cousins). The second is of my paternal grandmother (the Shiseidos and some Diors were hers) and paternal grandfather (and two aunts). All four of my grandparents have passed.

I wear their scents and am filled with love. Have a great night! I’ll delete these photos sometime tomorrow, just wanted to share.

They had had a bunch of shoots in the same session, and in the rest of the shots, he wore a little red suit (by this time, my mother was already in the States, which is why she’s not in the photo - same with my father in the other photo, ironically).

My aunt had told me that when it was time to change for this shot, my cousin had dug his heels in about keeping that outfit on. He obviously won the argument 😬

I really want to do a family shoot this year (I say this every year). Finding all of these old photos at my mother’s house is making me want to get some nice photos done before the boys get too big.

My camera roll is full of everyday photos, but nothing worthy of a picture frame.

@kosui no kaori Wonderful-looking family and it's sweet that you felt comfortable enough to share their images with us, even briefly! I've always thought you sounded like an amazing Mum and I imagine the lads will grow to be very emotionally robust but sensitive men judging by your personality. 💚

Have you had any luck figuring out which ingredient it is that causes that to happen to you?

No, it's super frustrating. Fragrances that have similar notes will often have completely different results. I was very disappointed that Eau Des Mervailles didn't work out, as that salty opening was quite appealing to me.

I ended my day with Aventus! I finally got my nose on it! I liked it. Very unique for a first time sniffer who hasn’t smelled any dupes.
