So good to see @ExtremeK checking in here!

I don't usually match perfumes to cooking chores, but I think it'll work today. Inspired by Ebenas' run of Acamporas, and by @Nastka in the cooking thread, I'm going to wear some earthy, funky Iranzol by Acampora and attempt making a British-style fish pie. There's some shrimp, scallops and grouper lounging around my freezer with nothing else to do. The mushroomy Iranzol should go well with it, I hope.

I see that the estimable @ClaireV has a brand new review of Iranzol here on BN. She completely nails its strange, complex nature with her usual eloquence.

Good morning /afternoon everyone :) Today I have the day off and it's my niece, Jenny's 6 year birthday ❤️ No celebration today, but maybe this weekend I assume. Mike, get well soon! Knimstep, I must check out Musc Noir Rose. It sounds like something I would love :) Sotd is L'heure bleue edp.

Happy Birthday to Miss Jenny! ❤️🎉🎂

Good morning.

Wearing Le Cri by Parfum d'Empire. Curious I looked up the translation for Le Cri - The Scream, which is a little alarming for a Monday morning. Starts with a vegetal iris and then quickly transitions to a light rose. Thankfully, at least for the moment, there is nothing that gives me the impression of screaming.

Have a happy Monday.
Oh my goodness! That’s intense! 😱

First wearing of Mugler Les Exceptions: Oriental Express

After a minute of extreme dusty parchment, this scent resolves into a lovely creamy iris accord.
No iris or orris or parchment listed in the notes. That's OK.
As long as I am patient enough to wait out the first few minutes, I should be OK.
“I should be okay.” RFLO 🤣

I'm wearing Estee Lauder White Linen for the first time ever today. It was a Christmas gift. It's a lot more complex than I assumed and is possibly a tad bit cloying. Next time, I'll try fewer sprays. Also, it might perform better in warmer weather (it's cold and rainy today). Overall, its smell does bring to mind papyrus and linen. Nose is Sophia Grojsman.

Wow, first time! I remember when I owned it I owned the Parfum so I dabbed it on and yes it's very strong. Its aldehydes make it very diffusive and yes I think it smells amazing in warm weather, I am not sure I would enjoy it in cooler weather but everyone is so different.

I am happy you're trying it, I think its a classic feminine that needs more hype, in my opinion. I've always wanted a White Linen Shower Gel but I don't even know if they make that..??

I got in my new bottle of Roger & Gallet Jean Marie Farina today but I am not in a Eaux-type cologne mood so it's going to the Wardrobe and I'll save it for the hot summer of 2023 instead.

In the meantime I feel like wearing something powdery so I'm going to take a hot bath after this and then douse on some:

Late posting, I wore Eau Duelle EDT by Diptyque, Coffee Break by Maison Margiella (it has an apple top note along with the coffee and lavender - the apple makes it an unusual combo but smells very good, although the drydown becomes boring a few hours in) and Moonlight Patchouli by VC&A.

Had to check into an Urgent Care this morning (no big deal: my post-flu congestion isn't getting any better and I couldn't get an appointment with my primary care physician today): diagnosed with Bronchitis. Put me on an inhaler. Should be normal soon. My smelling has not been affected although I am def mildly congested in my nose so it will be nice to smell un-congested.

I wore this because I knew I'd be in medical-tight-quarters (but TBH the Urgent Care couldn't have been more easy and in + out):
Man, Mike! I went through the same cycle this fall with flu that turned into bronchitis with multiple Urgent Care visits and bronchial meds. That flu this year is no joke. So sorry you’re going through this and I hope you feel well soon!
