Purchase Tyger yesterday. Love the opening but I can’t detect it after 20 mins on me.

Either new bottle needs to macerate it my nose has gone blind to the ambroxan.

However - not sure it’s better than other long lasting scents I have.

What is the forums favourite every day west out of

  • Tyger
  • Antico Caruso
  • Invasion Barbare
  • Percival
  • Tobacco Vanille
  • Sauvage Elixir
  • Haltane
  • Aventus Cologne
  • Relfection Man
  • Aqua allegoria forte nerolia vetiver

Choice is making me anxious and want to pick and stay with one for a month.

(Other alternatives include Paris Edimbourg which are not as long lasting)

Thanks

I just wore Invasion Barbare today. It’s very much my style. I spray my shirt and it lasts a good 6 hours. It’s not too aggressive.

Elixir can be too aggressive if over sprayed. It, too, lasts a good long time. However, the scent is completely different from IB.

I also enjoy Reflection which is about as reserved as IB, perhaps a bit stronger. It, too, lasts a good long time. I consider both Reflection and IB to be good office scents.

I don’t own any of the others you listed.

Tygar is one of my favorite fragrances, and certainly my top choice of those you posted. I find it has very strong performance, and I suspect you are going nose-blind. You could try Sospiro Vibrato which smells extremely similar to Tygar and has super longevity and projection.

Percival, which you mentioned, also performs quite well and I really enjoy it, although it is less original and very invocative of AF Fierce or MB Legend.

Maybe try varying where you spray? I still run into this from time to time with certain scents (often ISO E heavy scents like Fahrenheit), where I randomly get crappy performance but will catch a whiff 12 hours later and realize it's my nose, not the scent. Some scents do this to me no matter what, like Guerlain Homme L'eau Boisee; other times I can spray further down my chest and get much better longevity. Anyway, best of luck!

The only one from your list I've tried is Paris-Edimbourg. Gorgeous scent, but it is a light performer; low projection, decent longevity, but it's pretty quiet the whole time.

Not exclusively, but many of my bottles get better with use and time. It's not uncommon for a new fragrance, even new vintage fragrances, to appear dull and lackluster at first. But with use and time, for whatever reason, they come around.
