What perfume do you wear when your sad? Do you go for something cheery or lean into the feeling with something more moody

It might make sense that I’d wear something bright and citrusy or otherwise uplifting. It could also make sense to wear a fragrance like Mitsouko, often referred to as melancholy. For me, a pensive, contemplative fragrance like Après L’Ondée or Youth Dew act as sherpas to guide me to the other side.

No major change in comparison to the previous posts, seconding the options of either avoiding most if not all fragrances.
Or if still going for a fragrance-likely a choice that was reliably tried and tested as a SOTD wearing option, during at least one similar occasion sometime in the past .

If outside commitments require that I get out of a funk, I like anything with ginger (Ginger by Origins, or Encens Chembur by Byredo although this is discontinued). Otherwise I would go with an Iris like Madama Butterfly by Senyoko or perhaps something earthy and comforting - likely Erdenstern by April Aromatics or possibly one of several Patchouli's like Battaniye by Pekji.

I was just contemplating this with Grey Flannel. I enjoy wearing it when I feel down because I wore it as a freshman in high school (lol in and of itself) so it makes me recall a time when I was much more depressed, therefore better by default.

It depends on the type of sadness. If it's a general melancholy, then I might lean into it with something introspective. If I'm actually depressed, though, then I go scentless.

This.

If I’m sad, I’ll wear something that brings me comfort, or one of my most favorite scents.

If it’s something deeper than sadness, I’ll have no interest in putting on perfume at all.
