Dior Dune Pour Homme - This one for the name, thinking of the sand deserts like the one in Dune. Probably could apply to the Middle East as well.

Joining you! It finally cooled off enough this evening for me to apply some Dune, after a scent-free day.

Not sure how it relates to the "1001 Nights" theme (deserts, I guess), but if it's good enough for LJ, it's good enough for me. Plus, I absolutely love Dune.

I was looking through my perfumes looking for a story telling connection and I came up with By the Fireplace by Maison Margiela. Notes include smoky woods, vanilla, red berries and chestnuts. To me this is the scent of sitting around a campfire or fire pit with either family or friends, toasting marshmallows - both white (vanilla) and pink (berries), eating snack foods including packs of nuts, drinking and having fun enjoying each other's company and telling lots of stories. The drinks vary depending on whether it is camping with friends or family get togethers gathered around the fire pit in the backyard that include several generations from young kids through to grandparents.

I will try to find another perfume that fits in more with the 1001 Nights/Arabian Nights location theme for later on today.

@Cook.bot not yet, the search continues! I think part of the issue is that there are clearly different types of honeysuckle, and the one I'm looking for seems to be a lesser known variety, although it's quite common where I live. I did end up loving the St. Clair scents though, so I guess the search paid off in discovering that house at least.

Another fun thing is that last weekend's synch rekindled my love for Promesse de L'Aube. I seem to be going through phases with this one: wearing it non stop for weeks and then forgetting it so I can rediscover it. Good fun!

(by the way @LiveJazz: you won last week with the most hilarious pick. I'm still giggling over it)

For the weekend sync, I'm going to go with Guerlain Eau de Cologne Imperiale. I could imagine it like opening up a Sprite or a 7up or perhaps consuming a margarita instead while soaking my feet into a pool of ice after a marathon run.

To me cooling scents are citrusy ones.

In the morning before shower I wore Eau de Sisley 3 - this is a bitter and green citrus, very lightly floral, too. The bitterness and the greenery are a bit (ok, a lot) too much for my liking, but they add to the crispness and coolness of the scent. Compared to this No. 19 actually feels gentle to me, but maybe that's just my perception.

Now I'm off to my cousin's son's christening ceremony after layering two other citruses: Love Osmanthus by Atelier Cologne (lots of lemon and cedar, and a little bit of peachy osmanthus) and Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilic by Guerlain (lots of sweet juicy mandarine and a hint of basil and green tea). I smell good, fresh, cool-ing and happy.

I am thinking of scents in my collection that feel cool but I don't feel like wearing any of them, zo I'm picking my Nivea Sun EdT which smells like their sunscreen used to smell; a nostalgic scent that immediately sends me back to days spent at the local public pool or at the beach.

Ignis is a celebrity scent from the past that is actually very good. The outstanding notes of geranium, coriander and artemisia to me read very very cold. Very austere. Frigid. You can see some of that at work in the better known Geranium Pour Monsieur, but Ignis lacks mint.

I wish somebody would invent an Iced Tea scent. Black tea, somehow made to seem very cold, and possibly slightly fizzy.

And it could have a flanker called Southern Sweet Tea -- just the same, but with added sweetness.

Joining the sync with Horizon by Guy Laroche-one of the most cooling, fresh fragrances do happen to wear and own.
All this in spite of (or maybe precisely due to) being a quite traditional vintage cedar, vetiver, sandalwood, fougere, moss and/or leathery musk scent.

L'Erbolario Rabarbaro half-captures this - as in slightly sweetened black tea scent. However it does not smell icy to me, as it goes a route of soft spices (cardamom I think) and that suggests hot/warm tea to me more.
The rhubarb part should feel more cooling in theory but I don't smell it much there in practice.

You said it so well.
The iris softens and smoothes it to me, too - and I'm thankful for that.
I haven't tried Eau de Campagne but I think I can imagine what you mean.

Creed Selection Verte - It has a nice minty and citrus feel which creates a refreshing aroma, as good as an ice bath.

I'm wearing What I Did on my Holidays by 4160 Tuesdays. Lots of menthol in this one as well as a suntan lotion note, sea breeze accord and lavender. Although, I've just realised that I don't really reach for this much during summer heat, what I do reach for is lightly powdered scents - powdery musks (Narciso EDP, L'Instant Magic) and perfumes like Moonlight Patchouli by VC&A that has a supporting "powdery feel" type note to it in summer. Just like applying a light dusting of powder makes you feel less hot and sticky in a heat wave so does the aroma of light powder, it instantly takes the sticky feeling out of the heat so I feel less icky and more cool. Heavy powdered scents are a no go though as they are too overwhelming and feel thick/suffocating when it is hot. Also, the citrus and lavender combo works well (Mon Guerlain EDT which has a sharper, cooler lavender note in it) and scents that have a sparkling or crystalline quality to them (Le Cri, Miss Dior Rose N' Roses).

There is an Ice effect that tickles my brain cells and has my cold senses triggered.
Oddly, it causes a warming effect in the Icy Cold weather to me.
Maybe too much hanging upside down in the hanging bars in the playground when I was a Kid.
No.18 EDT.
I'l wear that tomorrow in the Heat Wave we are experiencing.
