Recently acquired.

Ungaro - Ungaro Pour Homme II. After Shave, 75ml.
Beautiful fragrance, a cross between Guerlain - Heritage and Pierre Cardin - Pour Monsieur.

e2a The batch code for this is 1003. It occurred to me that given Ungaro fragrances were manufactured by Chanel, that the batch code system might be the same as Chanel's. Viola, 1003 would be February 1992. AFAIK Ungaro Pour Homme II was made between 1992 and 1996 when it was discontinued.

The Givenchy was sealed first in this golden wrapping paper and inside of that was the classic, wooden imitation package sealed in plastic. A dab on my forearm reveals a very traditional scent of great refinement. My better half's opinion was that it reminded her of a citric bug spray. Thanks a lot...
Sauzé is a house I've read good things about (not to mention seeing a bottle of their perfume being called 'Grande Classe', thank you PStoller), so when I saw this for a fair price I decided to find out what it's like. My girlfriend's take: hotel soap. Wham bam, thank you, mam.
I find it to be very good, its scent harmonizing very well with the juice's colour which is dark-green. It does not disappoint.
Both have obviously very clearly a vintage feel...

Citric bug spray indeed! It's one of the most refined and delicate masculine fragrances there is!

What is that, 1973? Some find, very nice indeed. That bottle looks exactly like the one I used to own back in the day, although I don't ever recall seeing the Paris stacked over France like that before.

Enjoy your fragrances!

Vintage Cristalle edp. I was a big fan of the edt. I don't really dig this. Too fruity and sweet. For some reason I can't upload the picture. Oh well...
I've sampled different versions of Cristalle, and I agree the edt and edp are quite different. I later realized (or imagined I had figured out) that the sweet fruitiness in the edp was an attempt to have some of the Diorella / Diorama vibe.

Sometimes, I get a really good feeling about a recommendation, and then I realize I don't have a bottle of the perfume myself. And then I ask myself, "If you're this happy at the prospect of someone else getting this, why don't you have a bottle yourself? Do you have any credibility? What kind of person would write a glowing recommendation to buy something he hasn't bought himself?" And then I've talked myself into buying some. It's a great system that has worked every time so far.

I'm trying my luck with it one more time. Someone posted looking for a recommendation for a kid in high school. Somehow, I got the idea in my head that this kid should be wearing Ralph Lauren Chaps. It wasn't even a question in my mind. I felt sure. I was feeling way too good about this recommendation, so I ordered this set of Chaps Cologne and After Shave.

I'm not denying that @Jean-Sté is a massive influencer who has brought new-found prestige to vintage after shaves, but I really went for this for set for the good price on the cologne. The embossed Warner/Lauren Ltd on the back of the bottles is nice. Based on my Polo sampling, I have to believe that is a good sign.

I remember that at one time Polo was the fancy department store fragrance and Chaps was the drugstore/middle class department store fragrance. I liked it very much, and it was inexpensive!

The small haul. Not virginal, but genuine and authentic. Cost me in all less than 25 €. My missus of course loves the Armani. I myself have a penchant for the Denim, which reminds me of another scent. I cannot say which one though. The Phileas is wonderful, a pity I couldn't go for the 120 ml bottle that went for 75 € earlier this week, it's an agreeable sum.

This also should be old, gift/ presentation set. No bar code...it was still sealed...for only 5 euros! I also got like 0,5 liter lavenda puig in a big pharmacy bottle, from maybe the 1950s, so was curieus how these 2 compare.

how old does something have to be to be considered vintage? i got this jicky which i believe is from 1999 for $5 at an antique/salvage store View attachment 321669
It's going to be subjective from one individual to another. I interpret it as a fragrance that was made during a different generation or time period.

Probably the 2000s would be a cutoff from between vintage and modern.

Anyone else buy something from eBay lately, get a tracking number, and seller or USPS never ships you your item?

This has happened to me 2 times in about 2 months - both times I waited about a week after receiving my tracking number to ask seller about order status which ultimately gets refunded shortly afterwards.
Ha I experienced something similar today.
I won this item.
Seller says his niece dropped the bottle and half of the perfumed spilled so want to cancel. I say , no worries, ship the bottle with whatever remains.
No dice. I bet they were unhappy with the bid and cancelled so they can sell at higher price.

Bummer! Looked like a nice specimen - full presentation and a 250ml bottle too for a good price!

I'd follow that seller just to see what they do - if they're that brazen to re-list on ebay again after cheating you.

If sellers want a minimum amount they should set a reserve price and not play these stupid games with buyers.
