I think there were several “Magnum” fragrances beyond this and the Jovan. I have no impressions yet, as I only just ordered it, but I’ll let you know.

Worrisome, as I don’t like Quorum, but the subsequent comment that Magnum fails to replicate it accurately gives me hope.

Anyway, it was dirt cheap, so if I don’t like it, keep your eyes on Free to a Good Home.
The ONLY thing inspired by Quorum is the bottle!
I do think the Jovan version might be ok but the one @PStoller just bought is all vanilla and has nothing in common with Quorum save the bottle. The Jovan bottle looks amazingly like their Gambler.

I don't think I've seen this candle from Diptyque before. What are the notes?

"Borrowing its namesake from the city of Damascus, the limited-edition Damascena Rose captures the essence of a field of roses in a candle revealing its sumptuous, heady and honeyed notes that's housed in a luxurious glass vessel artfully illustrated with floral motifs suggestive of timeless opulence and blooms. Made in France. Scents: Damask Rose, sumptuous, heady, and honey notes."

This was issued exclusively for Valentine's Day 2019.

A swiss made 125 ml Jaguar for men. A few dabs on my forearm smells good and cozy. Two 15 mls pre-e-sign Miss Dior, not sure whether it's Parfum or Extrait strength, anyone? Two or three dabs on my other forearm, and ouch, the civet in this takes no prisoners!
Given the smaller size and no edt label, if I had to guess it's probably a perfume concentration.

Yes, I think so too. And I think that maybe Dior made no Extrait-strength Miss Dior. Anyhow, Brian Buchanan (aka Wild Gardener) sums it up pretty well when he calls it a "Brown leather chypre, with a humid undertone of stable yard and horse."

Thanks to Varanis Ridari for (albeit inadvertently) opening my eyes to this glorious honeyed woody delight.

Two obscure scents today.

Motor Racing, launched in 1971 (according to Parfumo). Don't let the ugly name fool you: it smells very green, intense, and great ! As Turbo, which name is as ugly as the scent is good.

Ductor, launched in 1989 (still according to Parfumo). It seems weird to me that this one was launched in 1989; it smells very dry, herbal, as it has been launched in the 70s. more to come after some good wearings !

Fancy horses and racing cars! Just what men want. :)

"Motor Racing" sounds like the kind of name a non-English speaker would think sounded exotic. "Ductor" sounds like a Batman villain.

Yeah, and the tire track on the box and bottle are very stylin...... I would have bought it for that if the price wasn't too much!!!...

The cap of the bottle has the shape of a tire, too ;)

I totally missed that!!! Nice!!! Did notice the tire tracks were repeated not on but in the glass on the bottle, that had to be an unusual production order!!!

I do like it when a company carries a design motif all the way through the packaging, even down to the glass of the bottle.

Recently acquired.

Lancetti - Lancetti Uomo. 50ml, 1 3/4 floz. Eau de Toilette.

Quite an unusual very dry Chypre. Every review I've read of this describes it differently. I think the top notes on this one are mostly gone as I get very little in the opening beyond a massive blast of Ambergris. Very Creedesque. As it dries out it starts heading towards Lancome Balafre territory although Balafre is sweeter and this one much dryer.

First Balmain! It was affordable and I wanted a taste of the underrated legend. It is surprising, with a blast of juicy wet white flowers and green leaves, indeterminate citrus, and it quickly settles into the violet suede it is known for. I also get a pleasant, elegant wet paper smell, like damp thick card stock, a slightly woody but "gray" smell (orris?). Doesn't last long at all, though.

Any guesses as to age on this bottle?

A great scent, hopefully the aftershave carries a decent enough strength
So far so good from the brief sampling on the back of my hand, I won't know more until I give it a full wearing. Unfortunately it was somewhat drowned out by the Floris Santal I was wearing that day and certainly disappeared much quicker than the Floris did although to be fair that was a modern EdT and Floris fragrances generally are fairly long lasting.

I bought a vintage 4oz Chanel No5 eau de cologne on ebay. I’m guessing it’s from the mid 80’s, based on the research I’ve done on it. Anyone here an expert on dating Chanels? :)

Chanels can be hard to date, especially without the box. That could be from the 1980s—or the 1960s. Either way, congrats, as the No. 5 EdC is a fantastic version of the scent, arguably the best apart from the vintage parfum, and still widely available at bargain prices because there was so much of it produced and sold.

As @PStoller rightly points out without more information it's impossible to put a date on it and as he also points out it could be anything between 1960 and 1980. Going purely on instinct and gut feeling it looks earlier rather than later.

Earlier bottles only had fluid ounces on them and not ml's which suggests it's not from the 80's but earlier—60's possibly. But that's just a guess.
