Guerlain Vetiver: Ribbed bottle in the green “double G“ box.

There seems to be some division regarding the ribbed bottles, and I’ve always wondered if perhaps there was a formula or ingredient change once they switched packaging to the bubble pack? Some talk of the ribbed bottles being very fresh with a grapfruit note, while others say it was darker and had more tobacco.

Who knows, but I’ve always wanted a ribbed bottle of my own. Had a decant many years ago but like most of my bottles of Guerlain Vetiver, the women in my life commandeered it.
They shall not get this one, ha!

And a mini of Paco Rabanne's Metal to compare with the Eau de Metal I already own.
VDN is wonderful especially the extrait.
This little beauty from an old perfume house:

I wish I could get someone with a more refined nose to describe what I smell with a plug still in the neck, but smells very natural. I'll have to wear it to get a sense of it.
Never heard of this one. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on it.

From la douce France he came. It's surprisingly citric in the opening and, erh, rather timid. Or refined might be more adequate. A little bit of that same '70s feel of moss and soap but intermingled with a very elegant and unexpectedly prominent and persistent citrus note, to my mind. Not bad and certainly not off, as I had feared.
Edit: of course the citrus I mention consists a great deal of airy aldehydes also, the 'metallic' bit. And not quite so timid after all.
Edit 2: There's mentholated licorice here for sure, just like licorice root or the root of evergreen fern (polypodium vulgare). This is rather subtle and natural. It makes me think of this fine film, Les Gardiennes (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6213362/), and how the Captain too, he was a 'poilu'!
Edit 3: the dry-down is added value. I, myself, cannot help but think that there is a sublimely sweet note of buttery oakmoss in here. Some say there isn't, though. 4-5 hours of longevity on my skin, maybe a little more.

Van Cleef & Arpels - Pour Homme. Eau de Toilette, 100ml.

Tricky dating this one as this has a five digit batch code (07251) rather than the more usual one digit two letter ones, but in most instances the first digit is the year. There are a few other clues. No barcode (pre 1989/90) old address 62 Faubourg St, Honore, Paris (pre 1991) EMB code (post 1978), degree mark ˚ rather than % for alcohol percentage suggests early 80's. So it's either 1980 or 1990, likely 1980.

As Yoda would say 'very nice smells it does'.

Yves Saint Laurent - Pour Homme. Eau de Toilette, 112g, 120ml or 4 Floz, take your pick!

I've never seen a frosted bottle like this before. All the ones I've seen have been clear. I've also never seen one that says 112g, 120ml on the box and 120ml, 4Floz on the bottom of the bottle. Batch code A1951U strongly indicates 1979 as do the box markings. Another unusual and interesting fact about this one is the lack of an embossed batch code on the box and only printed on the bottom of the bottle in white, luckily it's still there!

No barcode, EMB code or e mark and ˚ mark for alcohol percentage all indicates pre 1980. So a Squibb era bottle.

Ungaro 1 is on par with Jacomo de Jacomo? @epapsiou @nosey74

I think I’ve sampled this Ungaro, but I can’t remember details. I vaguely remember sampling 1 and 3.

I'm not sure what you're asking. I don't get any similarities between the two. If you're asking me if I like Ungaro 1 more than JDJ the answer is yes!

I bought these carded samples before I decided to buy a full bottle:
