Taylor of Old Bond Street - Sandalwood Aftershave and Cologne.
I have to confess to becoming rather fond of this due to its simplicity and elegance. It puts many high street designer offerings to shame.
Last post on the matter. Will move to The Lounge if there's still interest.Weather Report is good stuff, and I've heard Bitches Brew btw, it's pretty chaotic. Jazz of any kind is only a splinter in my taste spectrum. There's also crossover with heavy metal too, as jazz fusion finds its way to progressive varieties of the former.
Anyways back to old smellies!
Dana Ambush. I'm enjoying this for summer wear. I'm planning on wearing Ambush, Myrurgia 1916, Guerlain Cologne Imperiale and pehaps building a partial rotation this summer.
Eau de Patou (1989), perfumer is Jean Kerléo.
This week I been rifling through all the semi-oriental fougères of the 80's/90's that I own.Bravo by Avon
Coming upon the 2 year mark of the passing of my Father has me visiting the "Scents of Consequence" in North America of the 50's 60's.
Although Dad poo poo-ed scent for Men on himself, Avon was in the air surrounding many of his Contemporaries.
It was into his 80's that I saw him embrace my Mother's Givenchy Gentleman that I chose to expose him to a large sample of Bois du Portugal, to which he devoured
quickly.
I miss him.
Oland is my scent for tomorrow.
I have a very old sample of Arden Sandalwood. I was told it’s from the late 60’s. It keeps ‘dry’ enough to wear in my Louisiana humidity and heat. Gives yours a try on a hot day. I feel like it’ll either be amazing or the worst mistake of your fragrant life! 🤣😂 Either way, a valuable experience.
Thoughts to you! Cancer took my father 16 years ago, and I still miss him and have moments where it gets to me. Special people are forever etched to our minds and hearts.Bravo by Avon

Dead gummit, now I've got to try some vintage Eternity... Thanks for the heads-up on this one!Keeping things simple today, I’m wearing Eternity for men to work. This is a good vintage fragrance lover’s blind reach, in vintage form. The sandalwood note in CK and Unilever distribution is a brilliant touch that was added. Considering its history and significance, this fragrance is genius. Modern versions miss the development of the original form and the pleasant sandalwood that anchors everything. Use modern versions for room sprays or car fresheners. Wear vintage and be happy.
Hi Bud, I'll give you an update on those to Chanel's on how they smell. I know you're into that. I have a feeling that in the late 80s the castorium was dialed back a bit. Similar to Kouros late 80s things were changedEscada Pour Homme

This is a nice, strong perfume. A little goes a long way. I'm not sure I'll be able to finish the bottle this year because any more than three of four sprays is too much.
This stuff is helping keep my perfume enthusiasm at a perfect 10 (plus Jules, Bel Ami, Patou Pour Homme Prive, Fahrenheit, and Polo).
Congrats!Christmas has just arrived! My 100ml Chanel Antaeus has arrived...I was told 50 to 60% in the bottle so I checked and it has 85% in there. So I checked the smell it is very strong but it doesn't seem to have the deep castorium at the start like my 1983 has but further investigation is needed on a nice fresh cold morning. No serial number under the sprayer, But don't get me wrong it is very nice. And the 100ml Kouros turned up at the same time. I was told by the seller there was 10% in the bottle and I pushed him hard on the price and I got it for £13 pounds. The date is 1992 parfums corps and it smell great! What a surprise there's 80ml in the bottle! Deals to be had on both! View attachment 335986 View attachment 335987 View attachment 335988 View attachment 335989
You are so right, Diddy!Thoughts to you! Cancer took my father 16 years ago, and I still miss him and have moments where it gets to me. Special people are forever etched to our minds and hearts.
Love this rare Jean Patou also. Need to pull mine from my stash and give it a well needed use!
