(It's a sorta summery day here (I hate summer and summery days)

Amen, brother. If we didn't need it to grow our food, I'd be in favor of banning summer forever.

Eau de Roche (1946 by Edmond Roudnitska, but this is the 1970 version by Nicholas Mamounias) by Rochas, because we've reached the Season of Eaux here:

I love that this has one of those restrictor plugs in its neck so I can literally pour it in big drops all over myself and my clothes.

A day with my Canines has me joining you in wearing this lovely stuff.
At this moment, the critters
are barking at a cheeky Squirrel, however they will be back snuggling up close
with me, on the Sofa watching Nature shows on the Telly!

I've catching up on shows like Supernatural and of course now we have Stranger Things Season 4.

My taste in TV is about as suspect as my taste in fragrance. 🤣

Joop Homme, Joop ! 1989. Michel Almairac.

Layering After-shave with Eau de toilette. I thought Furyo was plutonium, but this one could easily be plutonium, too !

Gotta get me some of that.

Just had a shave with Bel Ami foam (unknown vintage) Splash of 1987 Aftershave and a healthy Spritz of 1989 EDT.

I'm reminded again that these bottles will be joining me on the day of " Dust to Dust"

What a purrr of a Scent this is!

I'm actually doing the opposite:

Excess backups and samples I'll never wear get given the old Socialist wealth redistribution to friends who have none, usually as a trade but sometimes gratis, depending on the person.

I've tracked my wearing habits via Basenotes over these past few years and figured out how quickly (or not) I'll finish bottles, so I'm "diversifying my portfolio" instead of going the "narrow but deep" direction I was.

Bel Ami is one I still need to get, in any form really.

I only own vintage After-shave Bel Ami, and looking for some vintage Eau de toilette. But prices are skyrocketing, so...maybe someday...

Bel Ami is delightful but don't disregard the more current Bel Ami Vetiver! No, it isn't exactly the same as a classic, vintage bottle but for what it is Bel Ami Vetiver does a pretty good job representing the Bel Ami franchise and earning the Hermès imprimatur. It's not as brash as the original and seems almost like a bottle of the OG was diluted with a generous splash of Équipage. The leather though is divine. Methinks there's room for both in a nice collection although prices of BAV do seem to be climbing as well...

Love Bel Ami Vétiver! I know what I'll be wearing tomorrow now.

My vintage scent of the day is Escada Pour Homme. It's the edp version in the gold bottle, a mini. I wore the same thing Saturday and Sunday, but yesterday was so hectic with traveling that I didn't wear any perfume. The whole day. Not for the first time ever, but a rare occasion.

My #SOTM (Backstory: I was at the Detroit airport where I discovered a L'Occitan store. I went in to search for a fragrance I tried at their NYC location but couldn't remember the name. None on the shelf matched. An associate came over to help. She reached into the cabinet below the display, pulled out a tester bottle, and had me try it. "That's it!" She explained that they just discontinued it but would sell me this bottle for $25. Done!)

I should just get a decant of this and skip the sample stage. Purecaramel got me loving the original, and it's pretty much a dead cert that I'll love its vetiver version too.

Today, Chanel No. 19, and plenty of it. Extrait for the cooler morning, and then a vat of EDT when the heat arrives in the afternoon.

Givenchy Gentleman EDT (1974) - a healthy dose of the current Originale version from a couple of years ago, to save my vintage stash from taking a hit. It's considerably better than the earlier reformulations in my opinion.
