Very natural smelling "realistic" green scents

Nov 14, 2021
Hello everyone

Yes, it is spring time here in south of Norway. The smell of flowers, grass and the sea is everywhere here, especially in the evening. Yesterday evening I was walking between trees near the sea, and I could notice that air really smells like Green Irish Tweet.

I am really surprised how natural it is . Are there more green perfumes that smell very natural or very realstic?

Mentioning Creed Green Irish Tweed perfume should not limit your choices to grassy fragrances only. Natural green perfumes can be herbal or vegetables, like smell of Basil, mint or tomato leaves.

I am very sorry for the repeating topics about green perfumes, but it is my favorite category.

Have a nice day

Greetings,
Ghaeth

Parfum d'Empire's Corsica Furiosa is a deep, dark green - the smell of lentisque (aka mastic) and hay - very naturalistic and earthy, not very perfumey, but just lovely stuff. EDIT: forgot to mention, there's a lot of tomato leaf in this one.

Diptyque's Philosykos is a lovely green fig scent - very plantlike and natural, if not my actual favorite to wear due to the strong fig.

I suppose I should add Parfum d'Empire's Mal-Aime, which is meant to evoke the smell of weeds... and it does! Fleabane, blackberry, nettle, thistle, and an iris drydown. I have a sample and really enjoy it, but it's definitely off the beaten path.

Another nice one is Hermes Un Jardin Sur le Nil: mainly tomato leaf, green mango, mixed florals, lotus, and a dash of fruit. Very unisex and fresh.

Thank you for the wonderful impressions about associations/similarities between GIT and the very scent of sheer nature specific for the spring season.

Personally got some of the most genuine, nature-like experiences with "green" scents especially thanks to Sir Irisch Moos, Knize Forest, Horizon by Guy Laroche, Davidoff Relax, Felci and Hedera by l'Erbolario, vintage Tsar and also vintage Spazio Krizia by Krizia, only to name the more striking examples (yet also aware that there is still so much to discover yet).

Basil, mint or tomato leaves.

Armani Eau Pour Homme has a great basil note, Eau de Guerlain has an excellent mint and for an incredibly realistic tomato leaf try Sisley Eau de Campagne. The first two are citrus aromatics but still quite green, especially the Guerlain. To me, some of the best greens of all time are the fragrances composed by Henri Robert for Chanel. Try vintage versions of Chanel Cristalle EDT, No 19 EDT and both modern and vintage Pour Monsieur EDT. Even the great man's muguet for Coty (Muguet des Bois) is a very green and to me, quite unisex, soliflore.

Knize Forest is an extremely great scent, highly recommended, either green or not.

Commodity Moss - like a damp green forest
Atelier Cologne Trefle Pur - a green meadow, a stroll in a park on a sunny spring morning

If you like natural smelling, than besides Parfum d'Empire, another house I really enjoy is Maria Candida Gentile.

- Gentile, Very nice Basil opening, with a green soapy dry down, and very natural.
- Finisterre, green fennel and pine by the sea. I don't like aquatics, and love this. If aquatic puts you off then Kitrea is a honey green.

Pierre Guillaume also has quite a few greens, naturalistic, but not as truly natural as the aforementioned houses.

- Papyrus de Ciane is greenery that dries down to green incense, for me a better, more masculine leaning Synthetic Jungle.
- Morning in Tipasa is a pine infused honey that wears like a light amber.

I'm on a perpetual green hunt, and those are some I've run across lately and enjoyed. I just picked up bottles of the two MCGs, and if you time it right you can get great deal direct from the house. I picked up all the samples when she had a 40% off samples deal, then the bottles when she had a Mother's Day weekend special.

Edit: I'm just testing PG Komorebi, and though it's only a first wearing, this has soared to one of the better greens I've tried.
The note listing doesn't really convey this, but it takes me straight back to being home in Southern California. It must be the Reseda giving it a natural greenness, it's like walking down a tree lined path, with incense burning nearby. A lovely, slightly powdery green, reminiscent of Japanese incense. It also reminds me of the dry down of Anteaus, but no animal undertones, it's all fresh and airy. Quite an effect.
I'll give it another wearing later in the week, but right now, it's going very high up on the to buy list.

One I've been meaning to buy for the longest time is Parco Palladiano V Lauro, a fresh, herbal green. I love greens too, and am always looking for more.
I never get bored of green fragrances. It always bring me comfort, happiness and alot of memories from my childhood in the 90's. I feel green perfumes are so chic and never go out of fashion

The smell of grass, trees, and sea was really very strong, and it was incredibly similar to Green Irish Tweet and Creed Himalaya. As if you emptied a huge tank av Green Irish Tweet on the beach.

I will try for the perfumes you mentioned.

I feel green perfumes are very addictive, more you get, the more you want.

Thanks very much for the suggestions.

What can I say about Chanel No.19, nothing can describe my love for this fragrance and its wonderful memories

big Synthetic Jungle fan here although some people couldn’t deal with it

cut stems essentially but somehow really beautiful

don’t let the name fool you either - it does not smell cheap or that much of synthetics - more than synthetic it’s almost like a hi fi definition representation of neon green
I'm excited to try it

+1 : PdE Corsica Furiosa; Papillon Dryad
Caron Yatagan (rank vegetation and woodland)
Aramis Devin (stemmy greens; someone reviewed it as smelling green like a florist shop)
Anatole Lebreton : L'Eau de Merzhin (hay meadow in France)
Thank you so much for suggestions
