Tom Ford 'Resort Collection' - return of Neroli Portofino & Mandarino Acqua, Oud Minerale & more...
In yet more chopping and changing to the Tom Ford catalogue of perfumes, it appears so recently-discontinued fragrances are available again.
My interest is focused primarily on Oud Minérale, but there are 6 in total (possibly more to come?):
Neroli Portofino Acqua
Mandarino di Amalfi Acqua
Eau de Soleil Blanc
Oud Minérale
Eau de Vert Boheme
Eau de Jasmin Rouge
A video with more info can be seen here:
By far the most welcome news is the price: although they retain the 'Private Blend' style bottle, they're practically half the price of the original scents. Oud Minerale is on sale for £85 for 50ml and £120 for 100ml. The bottle has also changed to a frosted glass.
What are everyone's thoughts? Good, bad, or indifferent?
As someone who loves/loved Oud Minerale I have to say the re-release is very welcome news. But given the volatility across the world, and the fact Tom Ford as a brand is very happy to discontinue fragrances at short notice, might this simply be a temporary measure to sell the remaining stock of this fragrance, in a slightly different formula and bottle? Is it foolish to assume these fragrances are here to stay?
