Interlude 2018 version arrived and its a bomb. Spraid only on paper for the moment. It is very very similar if not identical to my first perfume lol. This version is more potent for sure of the one I tried in the perfumery last week. So if any of you wants to try an old like style of interlude you can find it now in Abraxas from Eolie Perfumes. It is very very very close.

My 2018 bottle of Interlude is a bomb, too!

Does anyone know where to get official Amouage samples, carded or in the little boxes? I lnow I can get tiny samples from several retailers, but want official samples...
Amouage sells their own samples directly. I think your can buy individual samples of most of them, they also have some box sets for some of the recent collections and the truncated library collection. They usually have a best of men’s or women’s box set. And I think they still have some of the "limited edition" almost everything box sets.

Neimann Marcus sells their samples at least my local store does anyways.

Official samples aren’t much different from samples you’d get from any other decanter but like Olympe said Amouage sells them directly as well.

Not sure about the US, but in the EU Amouage has a purchase minimum of €50 on their website. Samples can be purchased here:

These sets can be found in the wild.
A local retailer in Toronto has three different 45 piece sets (Ursa, Taurus, Cygnus) plus some 4 (Library) and 5 (Extrait) piece sets. Saw them in person over the weekend. Awesome for any Amouage fan unless you already own most of them ;) It is worth checking around as the Amouage sprayers are vastly superior to the dipsticks some made up samples use. Sadly the presentation, sprayer, and greater volume come at a cost. I received a couple of single box Amouage samples with a purchase. Nicely done but not to the single sample package standard they used on the old Library Collection. Those were over the top. The new items are sensible.

Hi all,
Are the "black box" Amouage attars that pop up on ebay, from sellers such as Arabian Delights, worth while? They seem to be produced for the Omani market, but no idea when.

I’ve purchased from them before, no issues whatsoever…….legit from my experience!
Thanks for the reply. Not concerned with legitness as much as I am with the quality of the attars. Especially since there is no info online for some of them. Such as "Lolwa", "Tahani" and "Ebhar".

How good is Badr al Badour, and was it affected by any reforms as Tribute and Homage were?(didnt compare personally, so just spreading rumors forward 🙃)

Not much conversation about some of the newer offerings, but I did just try purpose and am really enjoying it. Part of it reminds me of some old school Amouage stuff, and I get a little bit of Incense Rori as well.
It’s sad because not a lot of their newer stuff is worth talking about but I do see some chatter on Reddit. It really seems like they alienated the people who would be talking and making noise about these releases.

Incense Rori is still stunning though and imo criminally underrated if you exclude how expensive it is. It definitely is overpriced but man it smells so good I don’t mind the extra Amouage tax.

Thoroughly enjoying recently acquired bottles of Search and Purpose. Dabbling in samples of Guidance and Lineage. Conversation here 🤷🏻‍♂️

I completely agree with you on IR! I think it’s the best they’ve done in many years!

It’s a shapeshifter for me too. Some days I get a green, violet like note in the opening and some gorgeous florals but most of the times it’s just incense from start to finish. Although whatever that oakmoss accord is I’m in love with it.

Any other scents you know of that utilize a similar drydown?

Unfortunately I don’t know of anything else similar at all….pretty darn unique! The warm slow burning frankincense with that beautiful oakmoss is paired/blended so well!

Dont mean to undermine, but how sure are you its a 2015 batch?
Amouage was fairly known to have disaster of batch codes that no one could figure it out, so usually everyone went with mag or friction caps.
Your bottle is mag or friction?

For a number of years (I think they've changed to a new system), the last two digits of the batch code number (printed on the bottle and/or box) indicated the year. My one ends in "15" - denoting 2015 - which makes sense, because I purchased it in June 2016. It's magnetic cap.

Also sounds plausible that there could have been reformulations/changes between 2015 and 2018 when you tried it and it was different.
Has anyone managed to decipher Amouage's batch code system? I have my eye on a Made in UK bottle, with a batch code on the sticker that according to one of the usual sites is a 2017 bottle. Would be interested to know if it's likely to be a friction or magnetic cap? Batch code is WMS13367-1. The seller claims it was purchased 6 months ago in an airport duty free shop, but I have no further details.

It's likely to be a magnetic cap if 2017.

So I infer that you own two bottles of Myths? Did you get one as a back-up bottle?

That's what I did but ended up with two UK versions. No complaints though. The longevity and drydown is out of this world good.
Correct. I currently own a couple of bottles of Myths Man, but I think I'll hardly have the chance to finish one before I die. The second one was an opportunity tbh, as the previous owner was selling several of his bottles at a very good price. I bought Epic and Myths from the same seller.
Gold Man is the only one that I think that really changed, but it's unlikely that the reason is because it's from the UK. Probably IFRA's restrictions or whatever other reason. But I'm speculating.

I'd be curious to try a current iteration of Gold Man. My sample is from 2016 and it is a civet beast!

Apparently the rumours are true folks! Myths Man is indeed discontinued. What does everyone here think about this decision?

Who’s V? Was one used as the ‘reference’ or did they test many to confirm?
On fragrantica a lady who does waxing said it reminded her of a freshly cleaned vagina with several people commenting they agreed. Then I saw on Instagram this “influencer” person was talking about it and in the comment section multiple people was like “oh my god it really does smell like that”.

Honestly I find that so fascinating because what a wild association to have with a fragrance right? I haven’t smelled Guidance yet but I already have a feeling I won’t like it from all the talks of pear and spice notes. The vagina stuff doesn’t matter to me but I thought that was quirky and rather funny haha.

Well that’s something you certainly don’t see or read every day! And you’re right. That’s a wild scent association. It doesn’t matter to me either, just as the S-note in Mugler doesn’t matter to me. Not that I’d be an expert on the Mugler or Amouage notes being referenced. 😂 Thanks for sharing.

What do you think about lineage and guidance so far? Guidance looks blind buy worthy to me, unless that comparison to certain anatomical parts holds true..
Some reviewers write like prepubescent boys seeking attention, or more precisely, clicks... 👺
I would be unable to dispute the notes Amouage lists for either. In the opening of Guidance I get an impressively amped up pear note that my spouse perceives as being close to coconut so that says it is a shape shifter and who knows what your nose will perceive. Both of these scents are reasonably good middle of the road for Amouage. Safe but not too safe. Still forming my opinion on them but after a couple of wearings Lineage takes the lead. The ginger and sichuan pepper really kick things into gear. Further into the wearing I shift back and forth between them. In a forced choice I would go Lineage. Probably because there are notes in Lineage that are not as well represented in my collection so they are more novel to me. Sample if you can.

I just enjoy when people don’t take themselves too seriously and can have fun with scent descriptions.

I figured it was true when Renaud didn’t refute the claim several months ago. I love Myths. Hopefully the price doesn’t go way up now.
I think the price will go way up, and the fragrance will become, I guess, "mythical."

Am wearing it today as my SOTD and am impressed again with the transitioning thru three distinct stages.
