I don't watch TV, so I would have thought this to be a serious ad from the 60s, not a more recent semi-tongue in cheeck thing. Anyway, both suggestions are great, Aramis would be right from the era. And Kouros gives the right vibe.

Even though Dos Equis is a Mexican beer owned by the (Dutch) Heineken group, I see the most interesting man in the world wearing Cuba by Czech & Speake (first version - 2002 - original cologne, please).
I love the suggestions of Aramis, Kouros, Bel Ami but they may be a bit too much for rather hot and wet environments.

Do you know that there is a new version starring the French Augustin Legrand?

I see Monsieur Legrand also using Cuba. But the EdP version of 2021 (God forgive them).

I havent seen this commercial either. I definetely vote for the older one. I find the other gentleman much more interesting as personality and way more attractive than the second one . For Monsieur Legrand i would suggest Aventus.

Apart from the obvious irony/humor of these commercials and their main character, since various masculine classics were mentioned, tending to second especially Versace l'Homme, Bois du Portugal, Derby.
And to also add mainly Gucci Nobile and/or the initial 1970s Gucci, same with Drakker before the Noir flanker ever became big, vintage Trussardi Uomo, Bogart Furyo, Esencia Loewe, Davidoff Relax as well as the 1984 first masculine Davidoff fragrance, Dunhill Edition as hypothetical signature scents of his.

I’ve actually thought about this before lol.

I always envisioned him wearing something on the more subtle side, like an Italian style EDC.
But a really well made one that most people have never heard of.

That's great that you thought about this before. It was such a wonderfully entertaining ad campaign.

As much as I myself like some of these fragrances (Aramis and Santos in particular), I think both are too challenging and/or strong for his casual coolness. I can see him wearing something totally unpretentious and classic like Brut, but then again, that's also way too common for "the most interesting man in the world." It's also too much on the strong side, imo. In fact, I don't see him wearing traditional barbershops.

I think Trussardi Uomo is a great suggestion. It's pretty challenging in of itself, but when I've smelled it on others, it's pretty smooth, yet masculine. It's something that wasn't quite as well-known as Kouros or Drakkar Noir, but not something that was unaffordable or out-of-reach for the average person.

The most interesting man in the world wouldn't only wear sprays, but rather the most interesting attars too ( to keep it interesting ofc). Therefore, my pick would be:

Sultan pashas Fougere Noire- probably the greatest fougere in oil format imo.Its an aromatic mossy green, with exhilarating citruses and a sprinkle of spice in the drydown. Perfect for the outdoorsman or the man in a crisp white shirt.A head turner for sure.
