oops i meant grade 1 😓
It will come back in a year or so. It is outstanding, my number 1 attar. Very special indeed. If I were you I would sample Ghost House from Anna Zworykina. It has some similarities. It actually feels even more aloof and quite devoid of any trace of light or brightness. Not as complex, but a similar feeling.

Well spoken. Ghost House, Cuir de Russie and Hue are the best ones from Anna by the way.

I think you will fall in love with Cheval. It is one of the best smelling scents of Sultans entire lineup imo.

These sound interesting. I'll be checking out this house. Thanks!
Try the extraits. Not the edps. Go all in!!!
And I agree Cuir de Russie, Ghost House, and Hue are true standouts. HUE is unreal. Never smelled anything like it. Not a perfume, more like a time machine. Complex and transportative. Bought 10ml of the parfum version. And I was trying really hard to not go for a 30ml. I think she doesn't do limited batches, so hopefully, I will be able to grab some more in the future. I think she is criminally underrated. I would say, for my tastes, she might be the best perfumer when it comes to blending all-natural ingredients and as far as the artisanal realm goes. She, for alcohol-based perfumes, Sultan for Attars. These two, and then Adam. The rest of them, need to go to school:)))

Couldn’t agree more. The best all-natural perfumer these days. Her gothic and dark scents are extraordinary.

AH i forgot to ask what would u guys personally recommend from the sultan
Hi Paddington,
Here are some of my favourites. Hope you find them helpful.
- My most worn perfume in the 5-6 years has been Ame Sombre. I love saffron and AS is one of the 1st SPAs I bought. You'll find a few SPA reviews on my very sparse blog!
- If you like chypres with a touch of incense humm in the background, give Encens Chypre a go.
- I adore Dewaniya for its whirlwind of oud, resins and spices. It will be back soon. AFAIK, Sultan is making a new batch as we speak.
- Tabac Grande: If you want to enjoy almost all the facets of tobacco with oud. If you're seeking an avuncular take on tobacco, then Tabacaurum is the one. The latter has lots of saffron and (compared to Tabacaurum TG) the oud is less pronounced on my skin.
- Basmati Rose: If you're looking for a comfort rose compo -with a twist of basmati rice. So glad it is not gourmand.
- L'Ephemere: Dark rose compo with wonderful use of honey/beeswax, jasmines and rose absolute.
- Nuit Persane: Here again the beeswax and jasmine plays important roles. But in NP, it is all about highlighting various facets of saffron.
- Vetiver Blanc: Tuberose beautifully tempered by Haitian vetiver (I think there is some Hindi too). Imagine you're walking in a garden - somewhere in the Subcontinent. You're taking an evening stroll after a rain when the air is slightly cold, and various florals are opening up. But the headline act in the garden is tuberose. VB has this wonderful humid quality that is quite alluring.
- Moonlit Reverie: To me it is almost a tuberose soliflore with a cold, uplifting and effervescent impressions.
- Cheval d'Arabie: Until recently, his most animalic compo. Now that place belongs to Hindi Oud Nasha. Re Cheval, see here.

Think that's enough. :D But if you're looking for anything specific, then post here the kind of perfumes, notes or accords you like. I'm sure other will jump in.

Don't worry. Thebes-1 is coming back soon.

My favorites are:

L’huere D’or
La Rayon Vert
Tabac Grande
Dewaniya
L’ephemere
Poudre Noir
Cafe Ambre Noir
Cheval D’ Arabie
Nankun Kodo

I like Sultan’s gourmand’ish Attars the most but his florals are incredible. I have two sample sets of his and they’ve lasted over three years now.

This sounds good ... it's one I've been curious about for a while. How sweet is it? I generally like a high quality tobacco/oud combo.
The sweetness generally comes across as odour facets of oud, resins and some florals - but not as a separate entity. Also, it is not cloying. I usually wear it during winter and when it is cooler (note: Subcontinent weather).

how long does shipping generally take with Sultan Pasha? To the US . Also curious...I know he uses some synthetics and I'm wondering what might be his highest % of synthetics in a given blend? Thanks for the info in advance !

I know you probably are familiar with all the thread pages before this, but if you’re curious there is a lot of conversation about SP shipping and time. Unless anything has changed, it takes a very long time to receive SP orders! The two orders I’ve done in the past have taken months. I love this thread and seeing everyones thoughts, but I don’t often buy much anymore because of this reason and no response from him either. I like to keep up so I can scope the secondary market, and possibly be able to find something now and then. Good luck

I hope he can fulfill orders in a timely manner when he finally releases his spray perfume line. He'll only have one shot to get that right and potentially capture a big, new audience.

Howdy everyone, hope all is well.

First of all my, sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone for your patronage. Secondly and most importantly, my sincere apologies to everyone as I’m aware that I have let you all down with my service lately. My focus has been on the compositions and I have been trying to make sure that what I send is of excellent quality, but as I work alone and am a one man operator unfortunately such a methodology has many drawbacks.

I will be limiting the amount of sample kits I make and prepare on a monthly basis, this is just to ease my workload significantly and keep me sane and so I may focus on my existing patrons who have purchased full bottles and their orders and responding to them in a timely fashion via email or other communication means.

I can totally understand and feel your frustrations but please be patient with me. I’m sincerely sorry to everyone who ordered in December and had to wait many weeks for the orders. At the current moment, thanks to changes I’ve made, I’m able to fulfill orders a lot quicker and also am answering your emails as quickly as I can. Lately I’ve been aiming to make sure that each bottle orders are fulfilled within a 14 day time limit and no longer! Please be aware that those that wish to purchase sample preorders it will be for a limited time until I reach a limit then I will remove the listing till the following month. This is literally so that I can control my work load and I’m not overwhelmed with sample orders, whilst I should be focusing on the existing patrons’ orders and their requests. I hope this makes some sense and will be a success going forward.

Regarding the sprays, they will be available soon this year InshAllah and are fully EU/IFRA compliant thus will be available through various vendors and distributors. So that means that all logistics will be taken off my hands and dealt with smoothly by others and I can focus on what I truly love… composing, InshAllah Khair.

My Love and Salaams to you all and again please forgive me, as I’m human and a very emotional one indeed. I wish you all salaams from the depth of my heart,
humbly

Sultan.

Sounds great, and looking forward to the new sprays! Thank you for the explanations, and as long as everyone knows about delays and when to possibly expect them, I think most people are all good with that. Thanks again

Just wore my sample of the Deer Musk Acord. I must say, to me, it doesn't smell like real deer musk, but I love it. It actually smells like a perfume. I know that Sultan said to be used for layering, I think it's amazing just on it's own. It smells animalic for sure, furry, a bit earthy, spicy, leathery, with a quite noticeable halitosis facet. Also, it smells very old, something that I also get with some perfumes. Like an antique store or an old book. It's really good. Although it doesn't smell like the real thing, I would say that alongside Mriga and Muscs Koublai Khan, it is a top 3 vegan musk for me. Might need a gram.

Try it in dilution….1-5% in alcohol 😉😇 then it will reveal how close it’s to real DM. The accord is very close to DM absolute (which is what I studied, alongside some really old Tibetan grains) rather then just a tincture. Anyway happy exploring 🌹🙏🏽🌹

Looks like that's three collaborations on spray perfumes now. I was under the impression that he was working on some sprays for release under his own brand, but maybe I misunderstood?

So my first pasha order came in.

Dewanyia
Encens chypre
And a generous sample of dewanyia intense /couer (I spelt it wrong most likely)

Encens chypre the most magnificent chypre I have ever smelt.

Dewanyia intense off the bottle.

Facial reaction:

Can’t wait to try both versions of Dewanyia on skin
And I can see more buys in the future

Thebes grade 1
Al hareem

Nankun Kodō

Aurum D’anghkor

And more

It been a while since something completely knocked me off my feet
