I have the Sacré Bleu and, while nice, it isn't as close to either the US or Spanish versions of the current Aqua Velva (to my nose anyway).

Hello all! Hope you're having a great weekend.

Late post. Busy day, but it started with a great shave! Hadn't used the Wholly Kaw "La Supérieure Dulci Tobacco" cream in a while and wanted to remedy that today. This is more of a "hard cream" than something along the lines of say TOBS, GFT, etc. It produces an incredible slick and cushioning lather and the scent it very strong (like I like it). Sweet tobacco, but not so much along the lines of TF "Tobacco Vanille". More earthy and spicy with less sweetness (though that is there with the vanilla), along with light fruit notes. Two passes with the Futur and I finished with a splash of Clubman Reserve "Brandy Spice" and a few sprays of Creed "Tabarome Millesime".

Went grill shopping this afternoon. Looked at a couple at my local Lowes and found one in particular that I really liked. Gonna do some research online before I commit.

Good morning Cadre! Hope you had a great weekend.

The calendar may say it's the first day of Spring, but it's still the dead of winter here.. 23° this morning. Gradual warm up through the rest of the week though.

Started the day with a great shave. Went back to Stirling and their "Bonafide" soap / splash. Inspired by Prada L'Homme and a pretty good dupe, I must say. Excellent lather whipped up with the Simpson Chubby for two passes (+ touch up) and I finished with the matching splash and several sprays of Prada "Prada L'Homme".

Good morning! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Went back to Phoenix Shaving "Shave Chaser", their homage to Mennen "Skin Bracer". The soap smells identical to the renowned elixir and produced a wonderfully slick, yogurt-like lather with the Yaqi "Mojito" brush. Two passes (+ touch-up) and I finished with a splash of Skin Bracer and several sprays of PAA's matching EdP. Aromatic fougere goodness!

Great shave this morning. Went back to the winning combination of Stirling Soap Co. "Bay Rum" and Clubman "VIBR". Excellent lather produced with the Semogue SOC super badger brush for two passes (+ touch-up) and I finished with a generous splash of Clubman "Virgin Island Bay Rum" and a spray of Barberry Coast "Nature Isle" EdP.

Forecast to hit 80° today so I went with some warmer weather scents.

Another great shave this morning. "Lime" is the word for today and so I grabbed the jar of TOBS "Lime Zest" cream. Wonderfully bright lime and orange opening with notes of lavender and tarragon resting on a base of cedar and patchouli. Excellent lather produced with the Shavemac 177 ST badger brush for two passes (+ touch-up) and I finished with a generous splash of RazoRock "Evil Eye Lime" after shave tonic and a spray of Halloween Man "Hero" EdT.

I believe the last time I ventured the nooks and crannies of the man-cave, all I found was... an extra Derby stick. Surely, not the same feeling.

I haven’t seen many glycerin based soaps these days. I do seem to prefer tallow based, but QED seems to be quite slick to me. The scents are/were pretty strong as well which added to my enjoyment.

If you use (or used) them, then you know of all the "melt-n-pour" type of shave soaps, these were considered by many (me included) to be the best available. I had several of their soaps in the (distant) past and all were top performers. Excellent scent quality. Never had a problem with either irritation or post-shave dryness/tightness. I remember when they (QED) stopped producing them, there was much "weeping and gnashing of teeth" in the wet shaving community. People snapped them up on the site and wherever else they could be found.

I had long ago given up hope in ever getting more. This was truly a pleasant surprise!

Another warm March day, only they're forecasting bad storms this evening and overnight. Hope it washes some of the pollen away at least.

Another great shave this morning. Setting sail on a superbly scented sojourn on the Mediterranean with Creed's "Erolfa". This is courtesy of The Razor Company's collaborative soap & splash set, "The People's Project". Excellent lather produced with the Semogue SOC Caravela badger/boar brush for two passes (+ touch-up) and I finished with a generous splash of the matching after shave and a spray of Creed "Erolfa" EdP.

One of the best shaves I've ever had this morning. Don't think I could have gotten a better one with products costing five to six times as much. Haven't used the C.O. Bigelow cream in a LONG time and had forgotten how good it is. There was a time that this was the only cream I used. Wonderfully scented and slick lather for two passes (+ touch-up) with the '68 Slim and I finished with a splash of Aqua Velva Classic "Ice Blue" and a spray of Tom Ford "Beau de Jour" EdT.

Good morning all! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Very good shave this morning. Not as nice as yesterday's but still good. Like the C.O. Bigelow cream, it's been a while since I last used Van Der Hagen. Still had some of the old style soap before they went all "upscale". This is the VDH Deluxe soap with aloe and shea butter. Very lightly scented and the lather was a bit airy, but very slick. Two passes (+ touch-up) with the Model T and I finished with a splash of Clubman "Musk" and a spray of Rochas "Moustache" EdT.

Thanks very much, Ed! The MdC soap is great, really like those I have tried. Would like to get their Rose version next. It was my first use of the Don Miguel aftershave, a jasmine and menthol scent that is unusual and feels old school. Great skincare and post shave feel. 👍

Fantastic shave this morning. Went with RazoRock and their Acqua di Parma "Colonia" inspired "What the Puck - Gold Label" soap and "xXx" splash. Wonderfully slick and fragrant lather produced with the Semogue Premium Boar Taj brush for two passes with the Imperium Shaving custom razor. I ended up swapping out the stock (Parker?) head for a RazoRock "Mamba 70". MUCH better shave that with the original head. I finished with the aforementioned splash and a generous dousing of Acqua di Parma "Colonia" EdC.

Great shave to close the workweek. Went with Maggard Razors' bespoke line of shave soaps, more specifically "London Barbershop". The scent may be generic but the lather it produces is exquisite! Very slick, dense and provides a lot of cushion. Two passes (+ touch-up) and I finished with some Proraso "Refreshing & Toning" ASB and a generous dousing of Versace "Versace Pour Homme" EdT.
