Soap: Westman Shaving: Mazagran

a very pleasing shave with the Wizzie/Merkur combo, they don't 'wow' me like the Polsilvers, or the Platinums for that matter, but they are growing on me..

Good morning! Hope you had a great weekend.

Great shave this morning. Tried out another new soap/cream this morning, Modial's "Mandarino E Spezie" (Mandarin & Spices). This soap IMO is the perfect rendition of a true "croap". Similar in character to Cella's soft soaps, I was able to easily press it into a spare soap container for use and storage. Lightly scented but great-smelling mandarin with peppery cinnamon being the primary notes. The lather was less dense than I prefer, but I chalk that up to being more my fault than the soap's. Some soaps, as I'm sure you have also found, take a bit of time to learn the proper water-to-soap ratios. Still, the lather was very slick and did provide an acceptable amount of cushion. Two passes with the Fatboy and I finished with a splash of Floid "Vigoroso" and a generous spray of Creed "Tabarome".
Hope you have a wonderful day. :)

Good morning! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Great shave with which to end the month. Went back to "Cosmo" from Saponificio Varesino. Great spicy, woody combo with a blast of citrus on the top. Excellent lather from the "REM Cycle" sweet-spot badger for two passes (+ touch-up) and I finished with the matching ASL and Divine's "L'Homme Sage" EdT.

Hope you have a wonderful day. :)

hmm, the Platinum didn't wow me today, and the Local Gent is showing its age compared to the new soaps. still produced a DFS, but it lacked the thrill

Not so great shave… tried to make friends with the Razorock Blue soap again..unsuccessfully.

Using the lather bowl and more soap, I was able to get a denser lather… Was rewarded for my efforts with a nick and some irritation. 😂

The Epsilon Blue Mediterranean aftershave came through nicely with recovery skincare, soothing menthol and a great scent.

Have a nice evening. 🌝

Good morning! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Great shave this morning. First use of the Heritage Hill "The People's Project" soap and splash (made along with 345 Soap Co. exclusively for The Razor Co.). The scent is an homage to Creed's "Erolfa" and is a pretty darned good dupe. Excellent lather whipped up with the Semogue SOC finest badger for two passes (+ touch-up) with the "Fatboy". I'm sticking with this razor for a few more shaves because I've never seen what the life span is for a Wilkinson Blade. Today was the ninth shave and still seems to be going strong. Finished with the matching splash and a blast of Alexandria Fragrances "Mediterranean Coast" EdP.

Hope you have a wonderful day. :)

Good morning! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Great shave this morning! Nothing fancy or flashy. Just quality products that provided a damn fine shave! I've always loved TOBS's "Avocado" shave cream. It has such a cool, soothing scent which is very relaxing. The lather is fantastic as well. Two passes (+ touch-up) with the Fatboy and I finished with some Nivea Sensitive after shave balm and an ample aousing of Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza.

Hope you have a wonderful day. :)

Have you tried any other fragrances from the house of Loumari? You and I seem to be among the very few who have these.
yes, I have Saja, which I think is heavenly... just a beautiful, beautiful fragrance... will be sampling a couple more from the house when I go to Paris in a couple of weeks for my 60th

Hello! Hope you're having a nice weekend.

Great shave today! Got in my new brush from Wild West Brushworks yesterday and used it to whip up an incredible lather with Stirling's "Bay Rum" shave soap. Two passes (+ touch-up) with the "Fatboy" (shave #11 on the Wilkinson Sword blade and still going strong) and I finished with a splash of Clubman VIBR and a spray of Barberry Coast "Nature Isle" EdP.

Hope you're having a great day. :)

Good morning! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

In need of another citrus fix this morning so I reached for the TOBS "Grapefruit" cream. Love this stuff! I foresee myself using it a lot this year as the weather warms. Excellent lather whipped up with the Wild West Brushworks "REM Cycle" Sweet Spot badger and I finished with a splash of Master Splash Creations "Grapefruit Zest" AS and several sprays of Prada "Luna Rossa".

Hope you have a great day. :)

Good morning! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Great shave this morning. Broke out the Wholly Kaw "Cedrati". Wonderful citrus open with spices and woods and a base of cedar, oakmoss and musk. I've read that this is almost a direct clone of Mancera "Cedrat Boise" but I've never been able to compare them. Paired very well with the Mont Blanc "Explorer" EdT. Two passes (+ touch-up) with the 61 "Fatboy" and I finished with the matching splash and several prays of the aforementioned "Explorer" EdT.

Hope you have a great day. :)

Good morning! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Absolutely fantastic shave this morning! The temps, which had been in the 70's for the last few days, dropped to more seasonal levels so I reached for the jar of "Vanilla Safi" from ETHOS Grooming Essentials . Incredible lather whipped up with the Wild West Brushworks "Rosé Noir" ST badger for two passes (+ touch-up) with the "Fatboy". Also, the Wilkinson Sword blade is still going strong. Shave 15 in the books with it and no sign of tugging or edge loss. Finished with a splash of Clubman "Classic Vanilla" and several sprays of Cremo's "Spice and Black Vanilla" EdT.

Hope you have a wonderful day. :)

I decided to go traditional today.

Weaponry DE Razor - ordered it from Texas, has a Merkur type head, but is slightly more agressive than my Merkur 33.
Supermax blade - a little less aggressive than typical blades.
Irisch Moos Shave stick.
Omega Boar brush.
Finally, applied natural underarm deodorant stick to my face (i.e. Ammonium Alum).

Result - Two slight alum stings near throat, which means a very good shave.
Cheers,
Renato

Wasn't aware people did that. May I ask what that does?
It's the same as applying alum from an alum block - which seals up nicks and micro nicks (which one feels from the stings).

Only problem is some potassium alum blocks - like those I bought from Turkey - leave a white film after using them. So one has to wait for it to dry, see the film and wash it off.

The natural deodorant sticks tend to use the cheaper Ammonium Alum, which stings a tiny bit more, but doesn't leave the film. And I find the sticks more convenient,
Cheers,
Renato

I remember when Mallard first came out... I was not impressed, but I must admit that I was intrigued by the Kairos SE, and I was not disappointed.. What we have here is an extremely luxurious lather, and I was rewarded with a faultless shave. Yeah, fantastic...
