Iroaz by Lostmarc'h has been discontinued. A representative told me that they hope it was only
temporarily, but they don't know. I just bought a back-up bottle, which was already hard to find.

Does anyone know if Esperys by E. Coudray has been discontinued?

Thank you for this fast answer!

My IROAZ back-up will arrive today.

ESPERYS I received yesterday, looks like I bought the last bottle around. It smells like the old Leichner theatre make-up I know from my childhood. That's the rose in it. I like it so far and will give it a full wearing today. Thanks for this recommendation!

JdB - no concern for me if the EDP is OK. L'Instant Magic might be worth chasing down. Was not a fan of GH L'Eau, so no loss for me. SPI L'Eau - never sniffed it, but I love the regular, so as long as SPI stays, I'm OK. Idylle flanker - no problem.

Vega and Soul le Vent? Now THOSE are biggies. OUCH.

Yup - finally, after 3+ years of rumours Sous le Vent is 100% officially discontinued (along with Vega). We all saw it coming and I have 'laid down'a few bottles of SlV but it is unfortunate to see it go - some of us were still hoping this line might grow but after a few years of no more 'classics' being brought back to keep Vega & SlV company it was apparent the concept had stalled. Maybe with all these authentic recreations being done (for the Osmotheque, presumably) by T. Wasser and his new sidekick we still may see some sort of private semi-bespoke option for ordering stuff that gives the EU regulators the finger but my guess is that a Bee of whatever 'as originally created' will not come cheap.

It was nice to see Ulrik reporting from the Guerlain invitation only thing where bloggers were all presented with minis of classic discontinued and current perfumes done as they were originally made - I would have flown to Paris for that one! One friend who used to frequent Basenotes back in 'the good ole days' (and who shall remain nameless) received a gift of a bottle of Cuir de Russie remade 'as it was' from Guerlain not too long ago . . . we live in hope that Guerlain's largesse may bloom :)

Now THAT is cool!!!

Hope to see some reviews - and maybe even some side-by-side comparisons between the newer "Hello Kitty" versions and the grand old tigresses! ;)

Its a shame. I just found out about Fahrenheit Absolute because I saw it on sale, and here it's being phased out. I tried it today, thinking it would be a monster, but it didn't strike me as being very strong. Maybe I'll pick it up anyways. I'm also thinking of buying Fahrenheit Summer, although I really don't know if it's been discontinued.

Midnight Poison has been discontinued.
I just phoned the Christian Dior head office in Paris and spoke to someone specialising in their perfumes.
I was also informed that the Dior Addict rage has been discontinued, but they will be coming back. The person I spoke to was not sure if they were just changing the packaging from the range or indeed also reformulating the fragrances. She also confirmed that Fahrenheit Absolute has been discontinued.

I spotted it on one of my "frag safari" outings this week and will be purchasing two large bottles ASAP, maybe by next week. I sampled it again today and really liked it. Nowhere near as in your face pungent as M7, it was really nice stuff.

I think this is the way to go. Don't over complicate things. If we have a warning from a member or a suspicion, then anyone concerned about that particular fragrance can further investigate. Things do vary from country to country....for example I was recently told that Gucci Envy is still manufactured in very small quantities for the italian market, soley available in italy with perhaps some ending up on the internet. Things are complicated enough...let's not make them even more complicated. I am grateful for any warning/ tip-off however vague. I will further investigate the claim myself. I think we should all be prepared to do this. Sometimes within the industry itself things are not 100% and staff are ill informed. Recently in Berlin I was informed that Eau Noire ws being phased out to make way for a new fragrance. When I phoned the head office in Paris the person I spoke to was not even aware of this. It is a mine field, but suspicions are a good start to take things further and make individual investigations....
Is Guccy envy discontinued? i could have sworn I saw it earlier at a wholesaler.

Speaking of Discontinued fragrances, does anyone know if Dior, Dune pour homme is discontinued? I spotted an old bottle a few days ago for 35 dollars ( I know its an old formulation because the ingredients are as minimal as a really old Fahrenheit bottle that I aquired not long ago) but I was wondering if its worth buying?

i don't think it is discontinued, in the UK at least. Several stores including Harrods have it. And Dior more importantly has it advertised online too.

I'm confused about future availability of L'Artisan scents. On their website, under Collections, there's a section marked "Last Chance To Buy". http://www.artisanparfumeur.com/shop/collections/last-chance-to-buy.html
Seeing scents listed there has caused some to believe they were no longer going to be produced. Now I'm not so sure what it means.

There's a comment on Fragrantica dated 8/2/13 from member irenebenitoj that asks about Dzing!. http://www.fragrantica.com/news/L-Artisan-Parfumeur-Christma
She mentions Dzing! being on the "Last Chance" page. Now Dzing! is no longer on that page; it's still being sold on the site.

The LCTB scents now include Coeur de Vétiver Sacré, Ananas Fizz,, Mimosa pour Moi, Drole de Rose, Bois Farine, L'Eau de l'Artisan and Fleur de Liane. Another perfumista recently wrote to L'Artisan and asked specifically about Traversée du Bosphore and was told emphatically that it was not being discontinued. So, I remain perplexed about what "Last Chance To Buy" means.

It is confusing indeed! Maybe they use it for all sorts of supply issues?

We have some recent word on the "disco" state of Tommy Bahama fragrances:

http://www.basenotes.net/threads/37...discontinued?p=3140331&viewfull=1#post3140331

Translation: You can look at the Tommy Bahama sites and see that 4 men's and 4 women's fragrances remain on the site:

For men, the new main Tommy Bahama masculine, a new one called Compass, Set Sail St. Barts and Set Sail Martinique.

For women, the new main feminine, and the ladies' version of St. Barts and Martinique. You can also get a three-bottle coffret with the original feminine along with St. Barts and Martinique.

http://www.tommybahama.com/TBG/Men/Fragrance.jsp

http://www.tommybahama.com/TBG/Women/Fragrance.jsp

SO - the disco fragrances are the originals in both genders, Very Cool in both genders, and South Seas in both genders. There may be some other limited editions, too.

I see. Maybe I'll pick it up anyways, I'm a sucker for older formulations.
Picked up the aforementioned bottle of Dune for men, tried it, was blown away by how good it was, and so I went back and bought a backup! Acording to the batch codes I saw on Raiders of the lost scent, one bottle is from 2002 and the other from 2004, so not too bad. There's a thir bottle that I will probably pick up as well. image.jpg

The L'Artisan website seems to have stopped offering Coeur de Vetiver Sacré now.

It went into a big clearance sale that L'Artisan had here in the UK, along with others such as Passage d'Enfer.

I've heard elsewhere that Shalimar Parfum Initial is being discontinued? Anyone know anything about this?

I too have heard Shalimar Parfum Initial is to be discontinued but can't remember where. It was somewhere on Basenotes I think.

The Jo Malone rep at Bloomingdales told me yesterday that EL had told them JM Vintage Gardenia was discontinued even though it was a best seller because they could no longer get the French gardenia. Evidently it was made from an English gardenia and a French gardenia. Rather then reformulate they decided to discontinue. If this is correct I really respect them for that. It would be a big step forward for big corporate perfume companies like EL.

Have the Guerlain Voyage City Fragrances recently been slated for discontinuation? They're still available and in stock for purchase on Nieman Marcus' website.

Yes, they have been slated to be discontinued. They will be available as long as there is inventory, but they are no longer being made.

Well, this is something that I found out not to long ago. Polo Green by Ralph Lauren isn't being discontinued, but they did remove the treemoss from the ingredients! And this is after they replaced the oakmoss with that not to long ago! I'm stocking up on the older bottles before they discontinue it alltogether.

Dior Vetiver was dc'd last year but there is still some stock left. Pretty sure Mitzah is dc'd also.

Tom Ford Sahara Noir, Tobacco Oud and Oud Fleur are limited edition and Sahara Noir is already unavailable in some stores.

I saw a bunch of Jonquille de Nuit (50ml) marked down to $165 at The Cosmetics Company (a.k.a. Estee Lauder outlet) store this past weekend. It's either extraordinarily unpopular or being discontinued and is being heavily discounted to reduce stock. That's the only TFPB scent they had, though.

I was looking to get Midnight in Paris at Heathrow T5 duty free last week but the SA told me it's discontinued. She seemed clueless overall but they did have other VC&A frags in stock so I got pretty worried. Can anyone confirm it is in fact not discontinued (as I would guess, since it seems pretty much widely available)?

l spotted a couple of bottles in TK Maxx last week, so it does seem possible that it's on it's way out...

Tom Ford has been merciless at discontinuing Private Blend scents that don't sell. In 2009 the company introduced four "White Musk" fragrances (Jasmine Musk, Musk Pure, Urban Musk, and White Suede), and within two years all but White Suede were axed.

Similarly, of the four "Jardin Noir" fragrances released in 2012 (Jonquille de Nuit, Ombre de Hyacinthe, Café Rose, and Lys Fumé), only Café Rose has survived. The others were discontinued this spring.

I almost feel as though this is intentional: they release four fragrances in a collection, wait to see which sells best, and then drop the others. I don't see how that's all that cost-effective, given the cost of launching a new fragrance, but it must be working for them.

Maison 71 is right: the Cosmetics Company Store does have discontinued PB fragrances at significant markdowns. S/he saw Jonquille de Nuit, and I've seen Ombre de Hyacinthe.

Dior's Diorama, the rereleased EdT in the "Créations de Monsieur Dior" series launched a few years ago, has been discontinued. I wrote Dior's French customer service an e-mail, and they confirmed this.

This isn't really that big a loss, since this version of Diorama was not all that good and smelled absolutely nothing like vintage (1949-1970s) Diorama, a tremendous orange-peel chypre.

Talking about Dior discontinuations is kind of difficult in any case. The firm has a reputation for reformulating and renaming its fragrances that's probably unequaled among big luxury brands. (You literally have to be a rocket scientist to figure out the whole Dior Addict and Miss Dior Chérie/Miss Dior history).

Does anyone know the status of Cuir de Lancôme? Is it still in production?

Edit- just checked and could not find on Hermes website.
Edit - Late at night. I meant Lancome website (usa), not Hermes.

Seems normal if it is Lancôme's ? no ?

A saw the whole line TF's Jardin noir this august in Paris (Printemps Haussman) but full price... I would like to find Lys Fumé at a good price, if somebody has an information, please PM me !!! I tried to find this "cosmetic company store" but didn't found it.

For the Dior's (Vetiver & Mitzah), every time I go to Dior in Paris, I find them. Had a sample of the vetiver in August. They have them backstage and the sellers say they are not discontinued, just not promoted (such a behavior seems however very strange to me).

If somebody need someone in france to buy & ship, I can do it !

It's odd because I could not find it on Lancome (USA) website. Is Cuir de Lancome still shown on France Lancome site?

Regarding Lys Fume, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale's still show them in stock.

You spoke about Hermes site, that's the reason of my joke

I checked and didn't find Cuir de Lancôme, nor on Lancôme French site, nor on French reliable discounters. If you want me to ask on some perfumistas site, just ask

For Lys Fumé, if somebody finds it with a reasonnable discount, please tell me !!! I can't post on "wanted frags", don't know why (but I am quite a newbie here)
