Opium pour homme reformulations

As a lover of opium men's edt, I have a bottle of 2012 distributed by loreal, frag quite strong and there same time "fresh" already knowing that ysl went through several sales, sanofi, Gucci and now loreal , wanted to know what changes in each change between the smell and performance

An opium lotion from 2006 appeared(must be the Gucci version) for a great price would it be worth buying the 2006 one even knowing that the 2012 one lasts all day on the skin?

I own the original from the mid 90s (can't recall who distributed that version) and tried the first reformulation (again can't recall the distributor)and found the difference noticeable in the reformulation in terms of smell (less spicy and sweeter in the dry down) The performance was about the same.
