I would like to know how much juice is left in my bottle of Narciso Rodriguez For Him EDT. As you know it's impossible to see the fill level, but maybe the weight can shed some light. It weighs 481 grams. Does anyone have an empty bottle or full bottle he/she could kindly weigh?

I'm assuming your bottle is the 100ml?

I weighed these for comparison:

100 ml Narciso EdP (almost brand new, missing maybe 5-10 sprays): 480 g
50 ml Narciso EdT (5-10 sprays missing): 300 g
50 ml Narciso for Him EdT (missing about 5 ml that I decanted): 293 g

Conclusions: The new bottles seem to weigh about as much as the old ones, but the new EdP bottles seem to be shaped slightly differently so there may be a small but significant difference. All in all, it seems like a brand new 100 ml bottle should weigh at least 480g.

Disclosure: My kitchen scale isn't the fanciest or most accurate though, so keep that in mind.

I have found that a bright flashlight placed behind and right up next to the bottle and looking into the front of the bottle helps out tremendously. Also, you can try to place the flashlight right up against the bottom of the bottle and check that way. I've been able to check the levels in every one of my bottles this way, including Chanel Allure homme sport eau extreme, ombre leather & ombre leather parfum, and even prada l'homme intense and my club de nuit intense man parfum bottle. As you know, some of those are some really dark bottles. The trick is to have the flashlight's light right up next to the bottle, and the brighter and more focused the light, the better.

That does work sometimes. But there are some bottles where you'd need something like a laser beam. I've tried it with Antaeus and doesn't work.

Thanks for this. It is a 100ml bottle that I got in a trade so I'm hoping it's at least half full.

I've never tried it myself, but many say put it in the freezer upright. After it's been in there awhile, take it out and water will condense on the outside of the bottle but only to level of liquid inside.

I appreciate nice design but bottles with no ability to see level bug me.

I'd be wary of this method only because these Narciso bottles have paint on them from the inside, the paint might peel off the glass because of temperature fluctuations.

I recently took apart an empty bottle of Narciso Rodriguez for him. To my surprise, the fluid turned out not to be in the bottle itself, but in a kind of plastic bag in the bottle. because of this, I think it is only possible to determine the filling level with weighing.
Whoa that sounds so weird. Did you take any photos? I guess the plastic bag keeps the liquid from interacting with the inner paint?

Wow...what are the odds we'd have someone who took a bottle apart. Good to know. The freezer method might not work on that.

I'm certainly not trying to dispute the results you've gotten before when you've tried this, but it may be the light you're using.

I'm using a Night Stick 650 lumens flashlight. It has an intense light with the lens of the flashlight being about 2-2 1/4 inches across that greatly assists in seeing the level in dark bottles, including my Antaeus bottle.

As N.CAL Fragrance Reviewer stated above, the Antaeus fragrance will have a reddish tint to it but you should be able to see the fragrance level with a bright enough flashlight.

Hope this helps.

HA!

I'm actually a bit of a flashlight freak.

I did find one that cut through the Antaeus bottle. The key is turning off all the lights except the flashlight.

But I do have some bottles that won't work on. Armaf, Malle 30ml...

I delved into dodgy territory, actuall just took a surgical scalpel and scraped a line down the side of a few bottles. Antaeus Jacomo...

Lol Narciso my SOTD.and I just wondered the same. I'm sure it's not missing more than 25ml, yet there is also very little "sloshing" audible when shook.

Man maybe we could all together start a shared spreadsheet (Google or something) where we can add weight of brand new bottles, weight of empty and thus work out how much the juice weighs. From.then can work out approx qty.

I kinda assumed 1ml =1g though I'm sure I read a more science persons overview., Alcohol properties... Maybe like 0.75g / ml .
