There is a big market I understand for antique miniatures. There are lots of small ones. Even chairs can come in very small sizes!

Wow! That's very surprising.I saw them on eBay and some of them were getting close to the price of an actual Speedmaster, in the $4k range if I recall correctly. Not sure if they had any buyers at that point, though.
My wife and I often reflect on this and it has become so true in many aspects of our life. This is true, and as one’s tastes are refined through experience, the field of what one needs narrows.
Nice collection, but why does he keep so many at work?Hednic, your collection is extraordinary! I can’t wait to explore everyone’s pieces in this thread.
I wanted to share the some of my husband’s pieces. This is the drawer that he keeps in his office - it drives my OCD up the wall to see them like this. The pieces he has at home are displayed/put away nicely in watch boxes, but for some reason he has these tossed into the drawer. The drawer and office are locked at all times unless he is in there. I hadn’t seen them in a while, so I thought I would share since this thread came to mind.
Here are the descriptions:
Front Row, from left:
- Rolex GMT “Pepsi Cola”, 1965.
- Rolex Daytona Stainless, 2009.
- Rolex Submariner Anniversary, 2009.
- Omega Speedmaster, 1998.
- Omega Seamaster Crono, 2009.
- Doxa Project Aware Limited, 2006 (?).
- Tag Hauer Calibre Formula 1, 2015 (?).
Back Row:
- Doxa Limited, 2012.
- Bvlgari Professional, 2007.
- Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean, 2014.
- Breitling Super Ocean Crono, 2008.
- Tag Hauer Monza, 2007.
(Note: One from the description should be missing because he was wearing it).
Nice collection, but why does he keep so many at work?
That's an impressive collection.I honestly have no idea.
He originally brought those specific ones over when we were doing renovations to the house, and constantly had people in and out - he didn’t want the hassle of putting them in the safe with his favorite ones (why that’s a hassle, I don’t know) and so brought them to work for easier access. And then they just kind of stayed there, and became his “work watches”.
Sometimes I don’t question his quirks, because mine trump his any day of the week.

Same.Same 🙋🏻♀️
First, thank you for your kind words concerning my collection. Your husband's watches are lovely and eye-catching. I especially like the bezels on the Rolexes and Omegas. Does he have a favorite? Over how long a period of time did he acquire them? Are they used for work, special occasions or just for everyday use? Which one is your favorite of his? Do you have your own watch collection? Thanks for sharing.Hednic, your collection is extraordinary! I can’t wait to explore everyone’s pieces in this thread.

I've never really been into watches. For "fashion" purposes I think a Cartier Tank Louis is sexy, but so expensive 😵💫. A lot of stylish guys have worn it before. At home, he wears an Apple Watch

But in the mean time, I find myself gravitating towards smart watches instead. The convenience factor and how it integrates itself seamlessly into the Apple ecosystem really appeals to me. I think an Apple Watch with a silver bracelet band can be stylish in a modern way.

I got my husband an Hermes band with it for Christmas, along with some of the standard Apple bands, and he loves it. You can dress it up and dress it down according to your mood and style.
The two are very elegant and not surprised at all that they would be the favorites. I wish my father would have passed down watches to me as it would have been a wonderful remembrance, but he wasn't into watches like I am.His favorite amongst those is the Pepsi Cola - it probably gets the most wear. He’s acquired most of these over the course of about 9 years, and then a couple over the course of the last year (they were mostly passed down to him from both my father and stepfather).
My favorite out of those is probably the Submariner Anniversary.

I'm curious - do you know why that Rolex is referred to as the "Pepsi Cola" I had never heard that association before. Was it just a sponsorship deal between the two companies? His favorite amongst those is the Pepsi Cola - it probably gets the most wear.

I thought that might be the case as I wasn't aware of any partnership deal betwen Rolex and Pepsi. By the way, has your husband owned any 18K gold watches? It wasn’t any sort of official collaboration with Pepsi Cola, but rather a nickname due to the blue and red color combination

Red/blue is just Pepsi and Black/red is nicknamed cokeIt wasn’t any sort of official collaboration with Pepsi Cola, but rather a nickname due to the blue and red color combination (the other version was black and red, I believe). I’ve also heard people refer to it as simply the “Pepsi”.

I didn't know that either!Get out - I didn’t know that!
Does he have his eyes on one, perhaps a Rolex President? He does not have any 18k gold watches in his collection yet 🙂

And a wonderful gift indeed! Her dress watch is a Jaeger-LeCoultre (aka “J.J. Le Coo-Coo”) Reverso Duetto—a gift from a certain husband.
Did you ever give this any more serious consideration to the point of contemplating buying it?Datejust 41 with the fluted bezel.
No. I won't bother with the waitlist, and I've been opting for more understated luxury clothing and accessories. The Rolex is nice, but a bit too flashy for me.Did you ever give this any more serious consideration to the point of contemplating buying it?
Totally understandable. It's an unnecessary luxury after all.No. I won't bother with the waitlist, and I've been opting for more understated luxury clothing and accessories. The Rolex is nice, but a bit too flashy for me.
Did you ever get yourself one?an IWC was always on my radar to own one day.
Chuck - do you still wear this? The reason I ask is that I bought this recently for my oldest great grandson and he absolutely loves it!Orient Sun Moon V. 3 with cream face, rose gold with brown leather strap.

Thanks. At 15, he can't stop showing it off to his friends! The look up close does indicate one excellent value for the price.Great purchase for your great grandson, @hednic!Orient watches seem like incredible value for money, was very tempted by their Orient Star Classic a few months ago, but as I said recently here I'm already pretty contented with my collection. The finishing on them looks excellent for the cash!
