There are lots of small ones. Even chairs can come in very small sizes!

I saw them on eBay and some of them were getting close to the price of an actual Speedmaster, in the $4k range if I recall correctly. Not sure if they had any buyers at that point, though.
Wow! That's very surprising.

Hednic, your collection is extraordinary! I can’t wait to explore everyone’s pieces in this thread.

I wanted to share some of my husband’s pieces. This is the drawer that he keeps in his office - it drives my OCD up the wall to see them like this. The pieces he has at home are displayed/put away nicely in watch boxes, but for some reason he has these tossed into the drawer. The drawer and office are locked at all times unless he is in there. I hadn’t seen them in a while, so I thought I would share since this thread came to mind.

Here are the descriptions:

Front Row, from left:

- Rolex GMT “Pepsi Cola”, 1965.
- Rolex Daytona Stainless, 2009.
- Rolex Submariner Anniversary, 2009.
- Omega Speedmaster, 1998.
- Omega Seamaster Crono, 2009.
- Doxa Project Aware Limited, 2006 (?).
- Tag Hauer Calibre Formula 1, 2015 (?).

Back Row:

- Doxa Limited, 2012.
- Bvlgari Professional, 2007.
- Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean, 2014.
- Breitling Super Ocean Crono, 2008.
- Tag Hauer Monza, 2007.

(Note: One from the description should be missing because he was wearing it).

Nice collection, but why does he keep so many at work?

Nice collection, but why does he keep so many at work?

I honestly have no idea.

He originally brought those specific ones over when we were doing renovations to the house, and constantly had people in and out - he didn’t want the hassle of putting them in the safe with his favorite ones (why that’s a hassle, I don’t know) and so brought them to work for easier access. And then they just kind of stayed there, and became his “work watches”.

Sometimes I don’t question his quirks, because mine trump his any day of the week.

First, thank you for your kind words concerning my collection. Your husband's watches are lovely and eye-catching. I especially like the bezels on the Rolexes and Omegas. Does he have a favorite? Over how long a period of time did he acquire them? Are they used for work, special occasions or just for everyday use? Which one is your favorite of his? Do you have your own watch collection? Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for such kind words as well, Hednic 🙂 This thread is so interesting and impressive. Thank you for your questions!

His favorite amongst those is the Pepsi Cola - it probably gets the most wear. He’s acquired most of these over the course of about 9 years, and then a couple over the course of the last year (they were mostly passed down to him from both my father and stepfather).

He uses these for work. At home, he wears an Apple Watch, and when we go out, he has a smaller collection of favorites at home.

My favorite out of those is probably the Submariner Anniversary. I’m not too into watches myself, but did own a couple until a few years ago - a few Bvlgaris, a Cartier and a Tiffany - but gave those to my mother since I wash my hands much, much, much too frequently and watches always got in the way. She enjoys jewelry and watches much more than I do, so now they get the love they deserve 🙂 I only wear jewelry on special occasions - otherwise, I prefer to go with the bare minimum (earrings and my engagement ring/wedding band).

I’m sorry for the rambling!

I've never really been into watches. For "fashion" purposes I think a Cartier Tank Louis is sexy, but so expensive 😵‍💫. A lot of stylish guys have worn it before.

But in the mean time, I find myself gravitating towards smart watches instead. The convenience factor and how it integrates itself seamlessly into the Apple ecosystem really appeals to me. I think an Apple Watch with a silver bracelet band can be stylish in a modern way.

I absolutely agree!

I got my husband an Hermes band with it for Christmas, along with some of the standard Apple bands, and he loves it. You can dress it up and dress it down according to your mood and style.

My wife has the Hermès Apple Watch as her daily driver. Her dress watch is a Jaeger-LeCoultre (aka “J.J. Le Coo-Coo”) Reverso Duetto—a gift from a certain husband.

The two are very elegant and not surprised at all that they would be the favorites. I wish my father would have passed down watches to me as it would have been a wonderful remembrance, but he wasn't into watches like I am.

Thank you 🙂 I can imagine the great thoughtfulness that you will put into the mementos that you choose for your children.

I’m the only child for both of them, and since I was a daughter, I think that they are pouring all of their past yearnings for a son onto him 😆 At least, I know that my father had wanted a boy very badly - so ever since we’ve/they’ve reconciled, he’s been completely embracing his relationship with my husband, and it’s really nice to see.

I'm curious - do you know why that Rolex is referred to as the "Pepsi Cola" I had never heard that association before. Was it just a sponsorship deal between the two companies?

It wasn’t any sort of official collaboration with Pepsi Cola, but rather a nickname due to the blue and red color combination (the other version was black and red, I believe). I’ve also heard people refer to it as simply the “Pepsi”.

I thought that might be the case as I wasn't aware of any partnership deal betwen Rolex and Pepsi. By the way, has your husband owned any 18K gold watches?

That would be kind of neat, if there actually were some kind of Pepsi or Coca Cola collab!

He does not have any 18k gold watches in his collection yet 🙂

Red/blue is just Pepsi and Black/red is nicknamed coke

Did you ever give this any more serious consideration to the point of contemplating buying it?
No. I won't bother with the waitlist, and I've been opting for more understated luxury clothing and accessories. The Rolex is nice, but a bit too flashy for me.

Totally understandable. It's an unnecessary luxury after all.

Chuck - do you still wear this? The reason I ask is that I bought this recently for my oldest great grandson and he absolutely loves it!

Great purchase for your great grandson, @hednic! :) Orient watches seem like incredible value for money, was very tempted by their Orient Star Classic a few months ago, but as I said recently here I'm already pretty contented with my collection. The finishing on them looks excellent for the cash!

Thanks. At 15, he can't stop showing it off to his friends! The look up close does indicate one excellent value for the price.
