Chuck, do you know if this was a 50/50 collaboration, or is this principally an Omega release? Here’s a fun watch I just picked up. I like it more than I thought I would!

I knew Omega was part of the Swatch Group, but was unsure as to the input from each. What you said explains why it's priced like a Swatch and not an Omega. I just had not seen a product with that type of collaboration before.(Not Chuck, but…) It’s hard to quantify because Swatch owns Omega. However, the manufacturing, movement, and materials are from Swatch, utilizing design elements from Omega. That’s why it looks like a $6K watch but retails for $260.
Very nice! Is that a Jaeger Le Coultre and is the band solid 18K gold?If yall like old dress watches I thought I might share this really old but still ticking 'specimen'.![]()

Aren't you a fountain of Swiss watch knowledge! In my twilight years I'm still learning! That’s a DuoPlan—LeCoultre invented that movement in 1925. The company officially merged with Jaeger in 1937, though they started working together in 1903, and the DuoPlan was a fruit of that collaboration.
Don’t know nothin’ ’bout the band!

I thought the same, but seeing James Bond pulling a diver watch while wearing a tuxedo gave me ideas.Primarily because the social and business circles I move in, and my position at my firm, dictate the dressier pieces.
I just got a Casio AE-1200, stainless steel. Apparently James Bond wore a watch very similar to it, so it has that "gadget" vibe to it.

I was never into "cheap" watches when I was younger. The goal was a Rolex, but I was settling for Fossil's and Emporio Armanis. Now that I've matured, I can't believe I overlooked the Casio brand.
Did you see the mark-up on these things on the gray market? I heard they were going for thousands when first released and sold out.Chuck, do you know if this was a 50/50 collaboration, or is this principally an Omega release?

Very cool!If yall like old dress watches I thought I might share this really old but still ticking 'specimen'.
Even leather straps? I had to but that ended in 2017!I actually don't like wearing watches they itch and bump into things, but like hednic I kind of have to for work.
I can understand. I sort of have always had a similar viewpoint about antiques.I love watches aesthetically, and as feats of engineering, which the DuoPlan certainly was. Turns out, I haven’t any need or great desire to wear one. Go figure!

Didn't it come with instructions, or didn't the person you got it from explain how to set it up?I have an adorable vintage one with a tiny calculator but don’t wear it because I can’t figure out how to set it up.

The attachment isn't coming up when clicked so I can't see the watch, but I'm glad you found the operation Guide online to help. The Casio was one of my thrift-store finds and didn’t come with anything. This is it; it also needs a battery.
But hednic, your question prompted me to look on the internet for a manual and there is a two-page operation guide. Looks like it will take some studying. A good project when the urge hits.

I bought one of these as a white elephant gift for my company's holiday party last year.
I can see it now. Thanks.Trying again:

I think a lot of kids had them.As a child I'm pretty sure I either had one of those, or for a brief period thought they were the coolest thing in the world & wanted one. I can't be certain which!
Even leather straps? I had to but that ended in 2017!
Interesting. I thought maybe it were the metal bands that might be catching hair and pinching your skin.Yeah, especially leather straps! But I pull through!
Good Grief! That looks pretty detailed! Good luck with that! But hednic, your question prompted me to look on the internet for a manual and there is a two-page operation guide. Looks like it will take some studying. A good project when the urge hits.

Lets just say I doubt it will get any wear. How did the recipient like it?
Where did you see these and and do you remember for how many thousands?Did you see the mark-up on these things on the gray market? I heard they were going for thousands when first released and sold out.
I do too and so any watch face with multiple stems that stick out on the dial make me look ridiculous.I have narrow wrists, and I felt big watches looked out of balance on me.
Just curious since antiques were being mentioned - Are chairs the only antiques you like or are there other pieces of furniture that also catch your eye? If so - which?I like them myself, but one can only fit so many chairs into a house. (At least, my house.)

Yeah, I get that. I like them myself, but one can only fit so many chairs into a house. (At least, my house.)

If you like antiques, PStoller, don’t give up. There are lots of small ones. Even chairs can come in very small sizes!
I saw them on eBay and some of them were getting close to the price of an actual Speedmaster, in the $4k range if I recall correctly. Not sure if they had any buyers at that point, though.Where did you see these and and do you remember for how many thousands?
