Today I blind-pulled my 3rd sample out of the 4 that I ordered and correctly guessed that it was Detour Noir

This is a Layton clone just like Lalique White in Black is. I'll have to compare them directly to be sure but I feel like White in Black is somewhat better, like it pops a bit harder with pepper and citrus zest. In contrast, Detour Noir goes more directly into the cinnamon-vanilla drydown which is good but not quite as good in comparison

SotE/N: Dior Eau Noire | 2004 | Francis Kurkdjian

...wonderful woody-aromatic composition, but so far only modest performances, based on a newly fresh re-release (Sep.2022) big bottle. I remember it being stronger many years ago, when I first fell for it, on a short business break in Paris. Really hope the 'maturation' process will improve this in few months...

No prob! It's definitely a simple but pleasant scent. This one is a "mood" pull. I will eventually be scanning the various scents and see this one and just have to wear it because it's got its own thing going and it's so low key and chill.
