Mastiha based perfume

One of my favourite scents in the whole world is mastiha, a resin from the Pistacia lentiscus plant that grows in the Chios island in Greece. Has anyone used it in a perfume?

What I have tried so far is to make a 50% resin/ethanol dilution, leave it for a week and then filter and keep the liquid at the top. But my problem is its too weak to build a perfume around it, it lasts about only about an hour and I wonder if I'm doing something wrong.

Has anyone tried a different way? Or is there any synthetic that has the mastiha scent?

Have you tried the Mastic Essential oil?
You can use the mastic tincture that you make yourself to help lengthen the essential oil. But your tincture gets a little sticky, too, sometimes.
Have you looked up a GCMS of Mastic to try to answer your questions and investigate other portions of the molecular makeup of Mastic to help you extend the scent profile?

Thanks pkiler, I did try the essential oil but that's actually made from the leaves not the resin and the scent had a totally different profile.

"Have you looked up a GCMS of Mastic" I am doing that now thanks for the suggestion!

I read that the main odour compounds are α-Pinene and β-myrcene. Is it their isolates that I need?

I've made mastic tincture and have not really found a use for it.
As Paul mentions, it can get really sticky and cause problems with the atomizers and the feel on the skin.
I had a medium tincture at 25% and I couldn't use too much because it would harden on the atomizers.
I did not feel it's impact at low dosages so I put it at the back of the shelf, and I use the resin tears as chewing gum and incense instead.
I also enjoyed it mixed in eau-de-vie type alcohol, a common drink in Greece. It is great and some medicinal benefit can be felt.
But as a perfume ingredient, still haven't had success with it.

Very common in a lot of oils

You can certainly try those, but that won't make it last longer, though. those will just make those molecules louder.

So i received the mastic resin absolute but unfortunately again it's too weak to build a perfume around it (or even use it at all as it would drag down the rest of the perume) so the mastiha/lentisque idea is dead in the water.

I have run out of ideas for a powerful masculine heart note, any suggestions?

Liberty Natural Products, has Mastic Morocco, it's very strong, a little bit dirty, not as clean as Chios tears, maybe because it's EO and concentrate.
I didn't try it yet in perfume, any way it's Cheap.
