Does anyone remember when Kramer on Seinfeld came up with the idea
of a beach smelling cologne? Apparrantly, it was stolen from him (Calvin
Klein if I remember correctly). Anyway, I have a few frags in my
arsenal that probably meet that requirement. I have one called
Sand that I purchased on-line that even has real sand in the bottle.
I think that Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Barts might qualify.
How about Marc Jacobs? I have samples that I'm anxious to
wear this summer. I read that it can smell like suntan lotion.

Do you agree or have other Beach type scents to recommend?

Hahah oh yes of course how could anyone forget such a classic episode!

I somehow don't think a cologne by Tommy Bahama was what Kramer had in mind...

Honestly, I've yet to come across a fragrance that really reminds me of the smells I associate with a beach.

I was thinking about that episode two days ago. The fragrance was to be named "The Beach".

The idea was stolen in real-life by Giorgio Armani.

Mr Hulot's Holiday is the Atlantic Coast in a bottle. Not the most wearable scent, though.

Really, see I find it extremely wearable. Already halfway through my bottle. A real second skin type scent.

It's amazing stuff, almost too amazing. I can't wear it because it triggers too many childhood memories. It sends me right back to summer vacations in Myrtle Beach, Vero Beach, Cape Cod - in particular of seeing a momentary glimpse of the blue ocean from in between 2 houses as you first arrive at the beach and the smell of the strong wind that makes the waves peak with white. Sounds good, but it fills me with much longing for simpler times.

reviving this thread mainly because i was about to start it. To me different beaches have different smells, but the notes would have to be something with coconut and sand and salt water is there anything like that?
