If only TWO Christian Dior Fragrances, which two ?

Hi all,

Actually, I do already own one Dior (which I purchased over five years ago). It is my (very sparingly used) and MUCH loved Christian Diro "Eau Sauvage" (2012). So, if I were to consider the purhcase of ONE more DIOR for my collection, which DIOR should I consider ? I would very much love to hear any and all suggestions/recommendations for Dior Fragrances. Ooh, I'm a mature person (but young a Heart) at (almost) sixty eight years of age. Most old time BN members know of my love of Animailc/Tobacco/Oudh/Leather/Wood and in general, unique (some would say weird/skanky/off beat) Fragrances. Thanks.

For you? Leather Oud. Hard to get, but very worth it if you can manage. Go to Paris or find someone who is going so that you can get a bottle.

I agree that for the genres you mention, Leather oud would have been ideal. But I don't think it's available. So I'd say Oud Ispahan. Still oudy, but witout the leather.

Leather Oud is available...in Paris. I picked up a bottle myself last July. There are also shoppers who will buy it and bring it back if someone doesn't mind paying a commission.

Otherwise, yes, Oud Ispahan would be a good choice. Perhaps also Oud Rosewood, which is very similar except woody rather than floral.

Well, I don't think it's complicated yet to acquire the first/second version of Jules. If you never smell them, you deserve to smell it. My vote is for Jules. It is part of the history of Dior, it matches your tastes and it is also wonderful.
Hi J-C E,

Ooh, I have never smelled "Jules". I've always heard wonderful comments on that Dior. I absolutely have an affinity for "Classic" Fragrances. I'm making note Jean! Thank you so very much for your response.

Now SixCats, do you really have to limit it to two?

If' you've got Eau Sauvage then Dior Homme (original) should be the other.
Hi Stylin,
Duh on my part! I was just reminded that I have Dior Fahrenheit. So, I "think" I only have two Dior. I'll have to check my Bottles to see if I have any other Dior.

Hi lucre,

Ummmm, I must admit, I've not even heard of this (multi suggested) Eau Noire Dior. I'll check it out for sure. Thanks.

Hi SixCats!

It's the absolute best lavender scent imo. It's so beautiful and fluffy and airy, recently re-launched (slightly reformulated, not a huge difference from what I've heard) by Francis Kurkdjian. A lot of people tend to smell it differently tough? The licorice can apparently be polarizing? Hope you find a decant and enjoy though! LMK what you think!!

Quite a few great recommendations being mentioned, also taking the liberty to add two Eau Sauvage flankers.
Both with more complexity, depth, leverage, noticeable impact, beast mode elements, especially on the leathery, woody, chypre, animalic, off beat side, than the regular EDT- namely: Eau Sauvage Parfum and Eau Sauvage Fraicheur Cuir.

Fahrenheit parfum and Ambre Nuit.
+1 on both these choices. Heartily agree here as while Fahrenheit original is still fantastic, the parfum just made it so smooth and deepened a dimension of beauty, perhaps violet leaves in it.

I have often felt that Ambre Nuit is the best in my collection, certainly the best In the exclusives of Dior but I never was a deep oud or leather fan.

Dior Higher or Dior Homme Cologne 2013 since you already have Fahrenheit. I absolutely love Dior, it is my favorite house by far. My own favorite is Dior Spice Blend which is very underrated in my opinion.

I will always plug DUNE. Preferably the vintage. So creative. So unusual. So satisfying.
Completely genderless and criminally underappreciated.

I also enjoy: Oud Ispahan, Ambre Nuit, Dior Homme Intense, Lucky, & Bois d'Argent (though I wore the last two to death, got sick of and sold 'em)

Sauvage Elixir and Fahrenheit 👍

I own about a dozen Diors and honourable mentions go to Eau Sauvage Parfum, Fahrenheit Parfum and Leather Oud.

I can live without all the Dior Hommes, even though I own just about all of them
