Hi there! I don't know if this helps, but an Italian perfumer and brand named Lorenzo Villoresi had a fragrance named Ylang Ylang, which was probably from the early 2000s, or at the absolute earliest, 1990, when he started. It is sadly discontinued. It is extremely floral, and reminiscent of Chanel No. 5 with a massive overdose of ylang ylang. A wonderful fragrance. Thankfully, ylang ylang the flower is very distinctive and dominant in compositions, and I will bet you will find a wonderful replacement by investigating here. I can suggest Chanel No. 5 Eau Première as a starting point!

Welcome to Basenotes! 🍺

Welcome to Basenotes! 🍺
I purchased the LAST BOTTLE of vintage ylang ylang by Lorenzo Villoresi on fragrancenet and it’s not the real deal. I am new to this online perfume purchasing. I reached out to Lorenzo villoresi website and they confirmed that the 4 digit letter/number is something they are unfamiliar with. The scent is just sooooo off from the notes on fragrantica. I then decided to purchase the perfume on the LV website when I noticed that the shipping date was 10/2/23 ( this was yesterday that this happened ) so I emailed them again and asked why the shipping would be 8 months and no reply. I tried two more times and no reply. I didn’t learn my lesson with that experience either. I used gray market 2 more times only to end up with 3 full bottles of regular priced perfumes that smell like WATER. I really want to cry and punch myself at the same time. After weeks of researching, reading, waiting for delivery…. WASTING MONEY- only to end up where I started. 😢 I even ordered Tasneem from Italy. 2 minutes after applying - POOF! Scent gone. I thought maybe it’s ME!! But I had 2 other people test these out. I finally learned my lesson not to order discontinued items from any online discount stores. I’m stuck with Guerlain Mon Guerlain EDT, Guerlain Terracotta, vintage ylang ylang LV, and Tasneem. ALL WATER IN BOTTLES. Rant over. Sorry for dumping. I think I feel better now tho.

They’re probably using the European date format, which is day/month/year, so the shipping date would be February 10. If you ordered from them, at least you’d be assured it was genuine!

Yes, absolutely! It's on their site! I can't believe it! They must have gotten a lot of requests for it. But Ylang-Ylang is BACK!!!

You're most welcome! And thanks for checking out the Lorenzo Villoresi website. I had no idea they were selling Ylang-Ylang again. That's awesome. It's an amazing fragrance. I agree with @cdave2 that it will be shipping on February 10. Great news. Hope that you like it.

Also be sure to check out all the other ylang-ylang fragrances in Claire's awesome round-up article!

If you like the scent of ylang and have not already you should try Samsara EDT. I love the stuff. Xeryus also has a similar floral scent, and makes sense given your history with its partner Ysatis.

Thank you! I will certainly give it a try. I finally did find the fragrance I was searching for!! It’s such a close to the skin scent though. Maybe it needs summer sun to bloom ( I’m hoping ) and the fragrance is by Givenchy. Limited edition ylang ylang 2010 harvest. Hard to find, so…. I will definitely try samsara. Thank you again
