Hi,

For those of you that have Rive Gauche Pour Homme (Vintage, long aluminium bottle), did your bottle feel like it was like 2/3 full?
Because it feels like the bottle is not filled up, when you shake it it feels airy and like it's missing some juice.

Bottle is new, 125 ml if that makes any difference.

Thanks.

I know exactly what you mean as I have the tin can version and it's just a illusion. We are so used picking up glass bottles and feeling the weight before spraying that the tin can vintage Rive Gauche just feels too light. I still have at least a 100ml and probably more left but you would never know just going by the weight in your hands.

Thanks for the answers.
The thing is that I can understand that it feels light when you grab it, just like the Montale bottles.

But the thing that bothers me is that the bottle is not filled upp properly, only like 2/3. But if that's normal then I got nothing to worry about. :)

I don't own any Montales, but the Rive Gauche tin can version is by far one of the easiest to take on holiday with you. No leaking bottles, great sprayer and full or not, they are much lighter than glass bottles!

It's a shame they don't make them like this anymore. A perfectly all-round superb fragrance.

Try putting it on a paper weight and see how much it weighs. If it's around 140g or so, then you're golden. I believe it's 135-140g that is the exact amount it should weigh.

I thought the same thing Zycore. I think its just what the other members are saying. The tin can, and 2/3 full makes it seem like its on its last leg. I have been my using my big can for after haircuts, and for others after I cut their hair. Its been over 2 years and it almost feels the same as it did when I got it.

Just be careful you don't take on a flight ! Any container over 100ml capacity will be confiscated

a la Montale style

Yep.. I was really freaked out when I got my Black Aoud as it wasn't sealed from the shop.. I feared they'd tried to siphon some of it, but fortunately it was all in order.

The fact that you can unscrew the sprayers really doesn't help either in that case.

Always had the feeling myself that my own "tin can" Rive Gauche bottle was very light in the first place and is starting to get increasingly lighter, as the fragrance use gradually progresses

Have you guys experienced the silver cover surrounding the atomizer coming off of the rest of the can/bottle?

Okay many years later...yes, perfectly normal, at least with pre 1999 cans. If the outside gets wet, from the pressurized spray or even sometimes with the earlier natural sprays the paint can run. Left me with a icky blue hand on the way to a New Year's Eve party in 1984. I romantically rubbed Dear First Husband's thigh as he shifted gears in our primered Dodge Charger, letting him imagine our night without the babies becoming something extra spicy after midnight... :p
