Hello all. Can someone tell odor differences from ethyl caproate (ethyl hexanoate), ethyl capronate (ethyl heptanoate) and allyl caproate (allyl hexanoate)? Thanks.

I'd like to add Ethyl caprylate (ethyl octanoate) and ethyl caprate (ethyl decanoate) to the list. Thanks.

Ethyls six, seven and eight are fairly close to each other in profile. Caproate is the sweetest, very fruity and pineapple. Heptanoate is greener, and a little dryer. Caprylate is heavier and more winey, becoming slightly waxy.

Caprate is more cognac oils profile, and waxy.

Allyl caproate is sweeter and more pineapple than the others. It's less generic estery fruity, and more candied sweet.
