Diptyque - Benjoin Boheme

Description
- Laotian benjamin, angelica seed, sandalwood, styrax and patchouli - Accompanied by angelica seeds, sandalwood, styrax and patchouli, this Laotian ingredient becomes much less indiscreet.

I'm giving this a full wearing today.

Divine resins.
Like being enveloped in a warm hug.

The benzoin note is the same as in 34 Boulevard Saint Germain. But over here it's in it's full form. No citrus notes nor florals to lighten it.

Had not heard of it, so thanks. I like this house, they are interesting, and will keep an eye out for this one.

Have yet to purchase this one. Should make a trip to the boutique soon and pick this one up.

Very surprised about this low interest; even in fragrantica website does not appear!

I have to admit when I tried Benjoin Boheme on strip I smelled a nice but too linear and flat benzoin fragrance.
On my skin was different, you can feel angelica seeds green bite, sandalwood and patchouly are more evident (but discret).
Scent is never cloying or heavy, just a golden bright trail with a brown dusty facets after some time.

I buyed a bottle without hesitation months ago; any fan here?

I am a big fan of this. Picked up a bottle just a few weeks ago and really enjoy this nicely blended and interesting composition.

Don't be surprised. The old connoisseurs are almost extinct on basenotes now. But I am certain they are enjoying this and other good niche perfumes.

You're right that it smells linear on paper.
Its definitely subtle in terms of contrasting notes but it cannot be labeled simple. It is complex.

I love it.

I need to retest this. I smelled it in store a few weeks ago, and not on skin. it seemed a bit too modern and streamlined for my tastes, but perhaps I was just turned off by the fresh-modern-woody ambery Eau de sens.

Cacio, hi!

Eau de sens - more like eau de non-sens.
You're right. EdS is another filler. Diptyque does throw out a filler every 3 or 4 good perfumes.

Benzoin Boheme though is worth trying on skin & having a sprayed strip stored in suit chest pocket.

Today I did exactly this - and that was before finding and reading through this thread.

I find this scent similar to Volutes, less teh tobacco of course. Trouble is I like both. Anyone else see this also?

This reminds me that I have to try it again. Especially now that Diptyque has increased its distribution here in the States. So far, I enjoyed MFK cologne pour le soir for benzoin, so let's see if this beats it. (but I also use the scented carta d'Armenia by Santa Maria Novella in my drawers).

Tried this today for the 1st time. Instantly got my attention. It's hard not to think of Bois d'Armenie by Guerlain when smelling this, but the Diptyque isn't so thick and clotted...it has a lot of space and air in it. I was in the Diptyque shop with my BF's mom and she loved it on me also.

I am not a fan of the bottle.
