Dilutions for Veratraldehyde

I just received my veratraldehyde and I wanted to know at what dilution you usually work with it. Also, I wanted to know what is its maximum dilution for ethanol. I searched on TGSC but I only found one formula.

I don't dilute it.

I usually use powders or crystals directly in my blends, but when working in small trials I generally use powders in dilution.

I diluted my veratraldehyde at 20% in DPG, goes very well.

Thanks, I just did a %10 dilution and I´m not perceiving much. I´ll wait till tomorrow to see if I can smell it better, but as you said, not much power here, not as sweet or creamy woody vanilla as TGSC states. At least, I´m not smelling that. I´ll have to wait and try it in a blend.-

I usually use veratraldehyde diluted to an order of magnitude lower than other materials. Also, veratraldehyde is most prominent in the long drydown, so if you have trouble detecting it in isolation, try smelling it after a day. Definitely a base note. It can show up earlier if it’s blended right with other supporting materials with a fuzzy woody sweet vanilla quality. But often doesn’t show up much until the dry down, where it can get really powdery and sweet. It’s snuck up on me before in drydowns and can take over if not balanced right. I love it.
