Candy effect

Apr 16, 2022
Hi everyone,
Is there a way to create a fruity candy effect in perfume?
Which AC would you use a part from ethyl maltol?

Thanks in advance to all of you!!

Lemon, orange, vanillin, Allyl Caproate, Citral, Amyl Butyrate, Ethyl Butyrate, Amyl Acetate, Ethyl Linalyl Acetate.

Tons of butyrates and acetates.

It can get a bit more difficult driving it into the base, ethyl linalyl acetate is probably the longest lasting thing I mentioned aside from vanillin.

Never really focused on something like this to give you a definitive answer on very long lasting molecules.

Thanks a million Casper for your kind reply, though I wasn't looking for something to give fruity vibe but more that sort of candy floss effect...

Idk what candy floss smells like, but every suggestion I gave you can lead to all types of fruity candies.

Ok just googled candy floss, is that some european name for it? In the real world, it’s called “Cotton Candy” haha. It doesn’t resemble floss at all. Now that I know you’re looking for cotton candy, regular maltol would work better IMO than ethyl. You definitely don’t want maple lactone.

Maltol as well as ethyl maltol, and strawberry furanone (aka furaneol), as well as ethyl furaneol. Those should be dosed with care as they are quite strong. Even stronger is 2-ethyl-3-methyl pyrazine; used mainly in flavours but would give a slight roasted note.
