It is interesting even these discreet classic "stealth wealth" brands are launching fragrance. First Brioni and now Brunello Cucinelli. Just goes to show what we all know well by now, there's a lot of money to be made in the fragrance market!

Perfumer for the men's is Olivier Cresp and the women's is by Daphné Bugey.

More info via this Cosmetics Business article:
"Brunello Cucinelli has entered the beauty market with its first-ever fragrance launch.
The luxury Italian fashion brand has collaborated with beauty manufacturer and distributor EuroItalia to develop two personal fragrances.
Both were inspired by the Italian region of Umbria, where the company is headquartered.
Brunello Cucinelli Pour Femme is a women's perfume formulated with sweet chestnut, citruses, pink pepper and prestige woods.
It was created by Firmenich master perfumer Daphné Bugey.
Men’s offering Brunello Cucinelli Pour Homme includes spicy juniper, angelica, black pepper, clary sage and ginger, and was created by perfumer Olivier Cresp.
Models Arizona Muse and James Turlington have been announced as the face of the scents respectively.
The fragrances will act as "sophisticated ambassadors of the craft values” of Brunello Cucinelli’s Casa di Moda firm, said the brand, which creates luxury goods such as clothes and candles.
“I am particularly glad to be announcing this new production which adds two perfumes – one for women and one for men – to the line of elegance of our Casa di Moda,” said Brunello Cucinelli.
“Some years ago on the passing of my very dear friend – a producer of aromatic essences – I dreamt that one day I would dedicate a new product to his memory.
“Today, I am making that dream come true.”
Giovanni Sgariboldi, founder and President of EuroItalia, commented: “EuroItalia shares Brunello Cucinelli’s insistence on excellence, quality, detail, innovation and creativity.
“Our knowledge of the market, and the advanced technology used in our particular sector, has made it possible to transfer Brunello Cucinelli fashion and design to these luxury olfactory creations."

Didn't know they did candles, and the men's description sounds like it could be good. But betting the price tag alone will be enough for a pass. Used to really like some of their dress shirts and especially sweaters. But then they started selling $300+ t shirts to tech nerd ceo/celebrities, which mean they had to reprice sweaters to 2000 or whatever. Bye, nice to know you....

Kind of wonder how much clothing... or fragrance... brands that I own (or did own) but would likely never own if just starting to buy from those brands now. Probably quite a lot....

I can identify with this. I remember buying Creed, the large bottles with white leather tied to the top, in the 1980s or ‘90s, for $150 full retail.

Knowing the brand, I would expect a price point around $500 + 😅
Yea, I'm curious what the price point will be. Brioni went mid market pricing at $120, but looking at the Cucinelli candles and home goods the prices are quite high. Has anyone tried the Brioni fragrance BTW?

The notes don't sound overly exciting to me and I have a feeling it will be a pretty classic fragrance to match the brand's image which doesn't really appeal to me. But I'm still interested in trying it.

Does anyone else remember that The Row had some fragrance oils priced crazy high?
I wonder if Cucinelli will go that route or try to make a more accessible mass market money maker. The notes sound more mass market, but I wouldn't expect that from this brand.
