At What Age?

I was interested in perfume and collected minis and samples from a young age, but only started wearing it when I was 13-14. It was a bottle donated to me by a family friend, some horrendous eighties Krizia scent that was as loud as anything. I didn't even like it that much, I just thought wearing proper perfume was really cool. Much to my mom's dismay she could not tell me not to wear it because it was a gift but she hated it and I was limited to a single spray ons special occasions. I received a bottle of Chanel No. 5 from my parents on my birthday and that's when I started wearing fragrance regularly. From what I remember 15 was about the age most people in my class graduated from over applying body sprays to over applying proper fragrances.

I gifted my teenage kids a big bundle of decants and some full bottles to let them start exploring. My daughter (16) took to it and the (full bottle) of Burberry London (womens) became her go to/signature. They both really enjoyed the exploration. My son has his own style (which I applaud) and I wanted him to get comfortable with the idea of fragrance.
I don't really think there's a perfect age. I DO think it's important to expose them to it and give them some guidance so that they can get comfortable with it. Like many things, it's important to NOT let their friends/peers be their sole education about certain things.
