Are Square Bottle Diptyques worth hunting down?

As the title stated, I'm wondering whether old/square bottle Diptyques worth buying for their formulation.
I recently smelled L'Eau Trois and Eau Lente in their current vs 2009s version - they smell quite different and I ended up preferring the older version.

I lurked around the forum and some have stated that old Tam Dao EDT has more sandalwood. Does anyone have experience with Philosykos EDT, Olene, L'Eau, and L'Ombre Dans L'Eau EDT? I'm quite happy their current version. Thank you!

I have every fragrance that Diptyque has released from its start as a house including its first bottles. My advice is, if you are happy with the current versions you cite above, IMO, no need to seek older ones.

For what I have smelled, I have not noticed relevant differences, so I'd go with the current versions. But I have not compared all the perfumes.

I have noticed differences between edt and edp (eg for l'ombre)-but that's an edt vs edp, still true for modern bottles.

I have an old, square bottle of Tam Dao EdT, and if anything, it's really heavy on cedar.

If you want sandalwood, then go for the EdP.

I’m of the religion that older bottles are always worth seeking out. Usually they are better. The risks you run is to have them be off, or somewhat light in top-notes, etc., but in my mind that is usually worth it because the older bottles are SO much better.
