Alpha Irone question

I have a question about Alpha Irone. It’s a pricey material. But I keep reading on here about how amazing it is.
I admit I have not smelled it yet.
My question is does it take much of it to make a big difference?
If I bought an ounce bottle would it last me a long time? I understand that it all depends.

Just kinda of want to know what amount to consider.

I'm considering that one too.

I have Irival, Orivone, Orris Givco, and Velvetone 470. They are all so very different, still uncertain about them.
I do like Orris Givco but it's like a fantasy lipstick iris scent.

I wished Iris Beurre Reinforce was available but that one is next to impossible to acquire now. Last time I found it was with Liaison Carbone. They no longer carry it. Oh well...sigh

I have alpha irone. It is very nice. Straight up, it reminds me of something between alpha ionone and gamma methyl ionone, but 'cooler' if that makes sense. It almost suggests something aquatic to me. I could well be alone in that though.

I sort of feel that I'm not able to make the best of it, or that its use is slightly beyond my current skill level. Does anyone have any advice?

PA has orris butter 15% irones from Biolondes, available neat or 20% EtOH. It's beautiful stuff. Alpha irone is extremely powerful, dilute to 1% and use, and yes, it is that good/necessary in a true orris accord IMO. Also if you're looking for iris materials, gamma methyl ionone is a must, I recommened the Couer, 70, 95, and Iralia (most expensive, get the other three first if cost is prohibitive).
