I'm not going to tell anyone what to do with their money but, some of you lot are clearly getting duped by Ensars marketing. Shake it off and clear your heads. Nothing wrong with enjoying a few of his fragrances and oils but youre devoting your lives to making someone else rich. Lose the consumer mentality and go focus on your own purpose in life rather than filling someone elses pockets for endless redundant releases where few are actually worth owning or justify the price

Sounds like you need a hug.

Iris Ghalia 3.0

1 spray on the left arm, and 1 spray of the OG on the right arm. Let me just say this out loud now....Ensar has succeeded in bringing back the OG!! WOW. Same tenacity, same beautiful Iris in the opening, the alluring animalic punch, the spices, vivacious, with a bit of that cola-like undertone, same hint of fruitiness in the background, even the Tibetan musk here has the same bite as the Siberian from the OG, all the meat and potatoes are all here. OMG.......😲

The animalic note is identical, neither one of them is overpowering at all, they are being used as fixatives to lift the composition and to fill in the gaps, it's very well behaved and balanced. Keep in mind that I'm comparing a fresh juice to something released back in 2018, the OG has more age to it, even then, i'm VERY surprised of the similarity here. I'm really having a hard time telling them apart, the new one is just as potent, projection is just as beastly, the same muskiness, and it is just as pretty, as the OG. This may be a perception thing, but if I really focus really really hard, the OG seems to be half a shade darker, but when i keep sniffing back and forth between the two, they equalized and smell the same, the perception is most likely due to the age of the juice along with the difference between the musks, but they smell 99.99% identical to me. As of now, there's zero chance in me knowing which one is which if I were to do a blind test. Ensar, thank you so much for reviving the OG glory, this is absolutely a stunner!!

20211130_200806.jpg 20211130_200736.jpg

Edit1: 5hr later - This is when 3.0 pulling away from the OG
OG - still great, creamy orris butter, the musk, florals and fruits, and animalics are still doing great. Though leaning a bit on the darker side in comparison to the 3.0, i think it's the Siberian Musk having this effect.
3.0 - still going strong, overall more intense than the OG, with more pronounced Orris butter upfront, and the floral and fruity note is very much still loud and clear, especially the blue lotus, slightly more powdery, all these accords are keeping the muskiness and animalic notes in check. Ensar said he has the volume cranked up on this new version, yes indeed, this new one definitely has improved projection and strength, up a notch he did, over the OG!!

Edit2: 7hr later - both are still great, OG is warmer, while 3.0 is louder, especially the iris.

It's pretty safe to sum this up. If you love the OG, or the 2.0, you would love this just as much, if not more. If you didn't like either of the previous two versions, you ain't going to like this one either, because it smells almost identical to the OG, with enhanced endurance and tenacity. Like the Tonkin Musk PP, I don't think anybody would need more than 2 sprays with this IG3. It's a nuclear concoction. 1 spray and I'm good to go, and it would project for hours!

Safe to say that if you're lucky enough to own the OG, that 3.0 is redundant? Not that I want to use the word "redundant", because I know the ingredients are quite different, and I hate using that word

In my case, it wasn't redundant enough, reason? I could only find 10ml of decant of the OG and that's all i have left is 9ml now, been reluctant to use it because for over a year I couldn't find a full bottle anywhere. Was afraid of it running low or running out, so it's locked away and only get to see the day on special occasions. Now, I have TWO, for redundant purposes, so....redundancy works in my favor, it is exactly the reason why i bought two of this 3.0 right off the bat.

If you have 1 or 2 bottles of the OG stashed away somewhere, yup, this is going to be redundant. lol

Technically yes. This one is done for those who didnt buy, or ran out of OG

Exactly this, if you missed out on the OG and been hunting for it as long as I have, then this 3.0 is a dream come true for me.

If you've smelled the OG and it wasn't your thing back in the days, then this new 3.0 isn't going to change anything, unless your perception has changed throughout those years when the OG went MIA.

Thanks. I have an almost full OG, so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something with 3.0

You ain't going to miss anything, it's 99.999% identical. If you want to smell something completely new, then this IG 3.0 isn't for you, something like Tonkin Musk PP is a completely new composition, nothing alike with releases from yesteryear, zero in common.

I'm not going to tell anyone what to do with their time but... You're on a BN thread about EO perfumes and oils. This comment just doesn't make any sense here.

I still have not pulled the trigger on getting one of Ensar's perfumes (though most of my oud oils are his). Everytime when I have it in my basket, I think "I can buy two 50ML Bortnikoffs, or Areej Le Dores for almost the same money"

Does anyone want to buy a kidney?

Personally, I wouldn't trade one bottle of EO for a bucket full of Bortnikoffs, once you got your nose on one composition that you really really like, then you'll get a heck lot more enjoyment and happiness wearing it, than settling for something less. ;-)

Very interested to see how it compares. Mine is still in transit along with Tonkin Musk

You'll find a lot of familiarity in this IG3 to your 2.0 and the Purple Rain, same song but slightly different tunes, with the same structure, so there isn't a lot of surprises or wow factor to be had, because we have already experienced it previously. But what you'll find, would be like a long-lost old friend, who worked out, all pumped up, and packed with a bigger punch now.

Tonkin Musk on the other hand, man, I think this one is going to give you a nice surprise, this is an all-star type deal. Would love to see you go live and hear your impression and review.

tough decision!
If you guys only able to choose only one among these three between Abu Madyan, Rumi and Ibn Arabi, which one will you pick?

I went with Rumi. I like the idea of spiced apricot, tobacco, rose, ambergris and Cambodi oud in the base. In my mind this will be a semi-gourmand tobacco with musky dried fruits and a tint of spiced chocolatey Rose with incense. The fact that Ensar has worked on this composition for over 2 years let’s me know this will be a straight banger.

I had and loved old Iris Ghalia and now I’m wondering if I should grab the new one or Tonkin. Old friend I know I love? Or roll the dice on a new jam? Decisions!

Yeah I have a few live streams planned. There will be a pretty big unboxing and first impressions, with in depth reviews to follow. I just recently arrived home after being on vacation so I have a couple orders being consolidated into one shipment

They have actually been a bigger hit than expected. Quite unique scents at great prices with a Qi Nan attar gift on top. It seems to have been the perfect cap to a very busy yet exciting week.

P.S. Nothing wrong with giving someone a 4th climax … :O

New jam always! Iris Ghalia will always be around in one form or another. Tonkin not so much.

As much as I absolutely adore and love the IG, but I'm going to have to agree with Aaron on this one. Both of them are worth having, but as to which one to go for first, if I were you, I'll go for the Tonkin FIRST because it's the new cool kid on the block now. You aren't going to be wowed by the IG because the wow factor happened a long time ago when you smelled it for the first time, Iris/Orris being the main star of the show with all other notes supporting it. And you could experience that familiar Iris from other forms, like Iris Noir, tigerlust, etc as Aaron pointed out.

Tonkin Musk on the other hand, has THREE shinning stars going for it, the beastly and buttery smooth musk, an absolutely stunning floral accord, AND the creamy sandalwood. This is like a 3-course meal, the old friend probably can take a backseat and wait a little longer. Tonkin Musk is just so colorful, so well done, a flavor bomb, this one seems like a revolution to show off Ensar artistic skill IMO. Of course, there's a chance that you may not like it as much as the IG, I know Strifeknot got the tonkin decant incoming, maybe try a few ml to experience it first?

Missed the OG boat, wouldn't chance not being able to buy it again so yea i went straight for the backup right off the bat. LOL I thought it was my imagination, i did get a hint of Yuzu for a split seconds, it come and go so I wasn't sure if that's just the citrusy note from roses like EO3, or perception from a combination of things, now that you mentioned it....I'm pretty dang sure it's there. I kept asking them to send me some PB samples in the last few orders, hope to get my nose on it, even just a tiny drop would do.

Personally, I'd go for Ibn Arabi. The notes resonate and suit me better.

Feel the same way. Not enough to blind buy a FB but... if anybody doesn't like their decant of Ibn Arabi - holler.

To the married couple: After you've purchased the full set of the latest Semi-B collection, make sure you also stop by Amazon to pick this up for your spouse, he or she gonna need it when they see the next month's bank statement, or credit card bill.....

Ibn Arabi is the one out of the trio that intrigues me most. It has a rather short notes list and rosewood, rosemary and pineapple sound like a great, unique opening. Also the absence of musk, ambergris and sandalwood and focus on only oud (plus patch) in the drydown makes for a nice change. Damn, the more I think about it the more I'm getting tempted haha

I have a feeling Ensar’s note listings are deceptively simple which I love. Even Rumi appeared short but he goes on to say the list of materials is an entire page long haha! I think that’s the brilliance of his style lately. He’s learning how to blend these materials seamlessly while maintaining clarity of the material he wishes to highlight.

For example Musk Yusuf didn’t have Cambodian oud listed as a note but he included a super grade Cambodian that just made the whole drydown sing!

Exactly my thought. The opening and note breakdown looks killer, if I were to blind buy a full bottle, ibn Arabi is it.

Yes that might well be. I'd still actually welcome a few compositions where less is more. Even though I agree that Ensar's blending really improved. I'm not saying the ones with a lot of notes don't smell good, I just find simplistic scents sometimes fascinating too. Anyway, I'll wait I think a few more days and might still go for a bottle of Ibn Arabi...
