Nobody knows for certain if the bespoke version is better than the old one or not, until we get our nose on it. Can't make a presumption on something I haven't smelled, I care more about the end result than what type of oud (to an extend) went into the composition, putting more oud oils into something does not better perfume make, since some of them may end up clashing, canceling, or drown out certain notes.
I mean... It's Homeros Ambre.
Don't expect the original. Nobody did a semi-B to get stock off the shelf.
Semi-B's I've sniffed have been fun stuff! Purple Rain attar would be the only one I own off the top of my head.
Very glad I do, FWIW.

Honestly my Homeros/OudYusha combo today would be worth making into a Semi-B... Just, wow.
If I'm ever responsible for a Semi-B bottle you get to buy, it will likely be a Tibetan Musk / Oud Extraordinaire combo.
Problem is, they're both so good on their own, I realize there's a chance my "dream combo" might not live up to my hopes, like X said.
Anyone who knows both though - Maybe you can see where I'm going with the idea... And ohhhh my. Yeah I need that.😂

Forgot to mention, I need to fill my backyard swimming pool as well, it's only a small 20,000 gallon capacity backyard pool, need approximately 2,523,607 bottles of these 30ml Qi Nan. Who do you think makes a better sponsor? Bill Gates or Elon Musk? I need $3.78 Billion dollars asap!

The Tigerlust with TW90 does sound tempting. Tw90 is about one of my favorite and most worn oils ever. Only thing is, I've never smelled TL OG. Some describe it as EO1 and 2 combined (plus Iris Galia). I wasn't a big fan of EO2 and one while I like it, is not a love or rather not a scent a wear very regularly. Guess TL might not make too much sense for me then. Wish it was available as 30 or 15ml...

I fully stand by my decant statement. I bought the new homeros, but that's literally my favorite EO of all time (as you know)

I would only buy decant now on Private Blend that I have yet to try, along with the Sultan Red Rose, the new Chypre Narcotique, and Hajar Aswad. I would have bought most of these in full bottles if they were yesteryear pricing or with a discount, but it is what it is. Almost half of the stuff they're selling now automatically default into me getting only a few ml of decant. I would buy full bottles if they hit my must-have list, and a selected few that made it into absolute love? I would still buy backup. Something like the return of Iris Ghalia OG glory in 3.0? I'd back it up without any reservation.

Very surprised to see that more than half of the Homeros and Tigerlust bottles are still available. The $250 discount will end soon, take advantage while it lasts.
there was alot of good oils on friday and early saturday.
I would grab tigerlust but im short this month :( so homeros was the option between the two
im also curious what rose nera will be like

I agree in general with the principle that just because we increase or add a different oud doesn't necessarily make it better, but the team does work with each client on their initial idea and often makes various adjustments throughout the process if it's not jiving until we make something that we can put our name on it. Sometimes we have to adjust to the original recipe in order to take the semi-bespoke where the oud or other ingredient is taking it.

We may also adjust the semi-bespoke from how the customer wanted it when we release to the market because we want to take it to a slightly different place than what the original customer wanted.

In the end, every semi-bespoke we release publicly is only those that Ensar wants to put his name and reputation behind.

Not surprised at all, some customers are looking to save money on the regular releases, they may have only $500~550 of budget hoping to get one regular release at discount. Generally, people want to spend less, not more. $1k is no chump change, that's a month worth of mortgage or rent in many parts of the world.

Agreed. A good perfume is greater than the sum of its parts, no matter how expensive or rare those parts may be.

and Ensar guys - stop saying ONE DAY ONLY SALE! It was "one day only" YESTERDAY and they're still on sale again today - thats clearly not one day only. (I'm guessing if any are still available, they will still be on sale tomorrow too)

It occurred to me yesterday how much of an oxymoron it is to have Black Friday specials that are more expensive than the standard parfums....

At any rate, as much as I love those two parfums, I already own original bottles of both. I simply don't see the need to take a gamble on paying more for a special release version that I may or may not like better than what I already have. That's just my personal take.

Proving my point... Friday, we're all sitting here, cash in hand, eager to buy. By Saturday, it's fewer buyers, with less cash.
That's just the reality of Black Friday weekend & everyone doing their holiday shopping.

Tigerlust is still very tempting, but if I grab it, I've gotta skip others & do some mental gymnastics to justify it.

Confession: I think it just hit me that these are 50ml, I'm so used to the 30ml's... ::: chalks hands & adjusts leotard ::: SMH!:ROFLMAO:

Confession: I think it just hit me that these are 50ml, I'm so used to the 30ml's... ::: chalks hands & adjusts leotard ::: SMH!:ROFLMAO:

Justification to buy:
They are the cheapest (relatively speaking) semi-B from that premium bracket. All previous Semi-B is $1500, not a penny less, only for 30ml. While these come in 50ml, with leather casing to boot, are also special edition that I assume wouldn't be available on regular basis. Well, that's my justification for jumping on the Homeros, since that's my all-time favorite. If i could only keep 1 bottle of EO, Homeros OG is it. I'm hoping this flanker is going to turn out just as good as the OG. FOMO is at full force, missed out on the Musc Gardenia (came in 50ml too) because the logical thinking got the upper hand, and i regretted it, should have jumped on it, and now afraid I would make that same mistake again if I skip out again this time on this Homeros SE.

Justification NOT to buy:
They cost more than the OG and 50/50 chance you won't like it more than OG, as Naylor pointed out previously. And Unlike all previous Semi-B releases, there aren't any Sultan Qaboos or Royal compounds and special Kinam Oud oil in these two. They are $1k blind buy for ONE composition, where you could have gotten two different barely used 30ml regular releases in the used market. Or spend that money on a regular release that you really want, and save the $400 toward something else. If you don't like these, it's not going to be easy to unload something at this price range.

Tonkin Musk PP continues to impress, 1 spray is all I need to get a full wearing, 30ml of this will go a long way for me. Very musky in the opening, a cocktail and rainbow of notes, wild, dense, creamy, and beautiful sandalwood in the background, even getting a hint of incense smokiness today, beastly projection, such a stunning composition. This is my 5th wearing, and it has the potential to dethrone my favorite Musk Yusuf in the foreseeable future.

I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of this amazing release.

Well that email went out just about 24 hours ago (we have a very international clientelle so days don't always match up). The banner and sales dates are still manual (i.e. we can't yet set a date and time for a sale to end) so it's always about someone stopping from the madness of this weekend (tons and tons of orders to fulfill and some final sales and offers to put up) to say “Let's take down the sale”. That is at the bottom of the list right now, but our last email and offer just went out so the one-day sales will likely removed soon by whoever is responsible for doing that (if they haven't passed out … it's 12:30am in Amman).

Hopefully we will get more automated sales by the end of the year. Any new feature is heavily tested before launching and that is not yet at the top of the list for IT to look into but definitely will make things easier once we get that added. Sorry if it seems like we are trying to be deceptive in any way.

Leave the sales up there for a week or two if you can, more headroom for people to decide.

I imagine it takes time for folks to sell kidneys, hatching plans for heists, GoFundMe, and whatnot. ;)
j/k.

All this talk about 1 day sales, didnt you qll through your lives learned that every black friday lasts 1 week only????
It has been like this for a while now, and if anyone really expects to have it 1 for day with all inventory out - wake up.

im curious to see what's next months hold
@Xcaliber6685 tempting me to get tonkin musk next month lol as what ur thoughts on the new iris ghalia
Got my 2nd wear of Tonkin Musk last night... It's excellent.(y)
I'm also curious about the new Iris Ghalia PP, whether I should grab it already owning Iris Noir, etc.

Can't wait for someone to put up a review of the new amped up Private Blend!
Got to wear a spray of Private Blend earlier this month, but it was in the midst of testing literally 20+ things.
Still, it was the product I would've bought at first sniff, if I'd been able to buy the bottle at the time.
Same for Qi Nan. Both are quite impressive.

As someone who owns more Semi Bespokes than most (I was one of the two original recipients of Purple Rain), I can say that each of them became better than the sum of their parts. My most recent one was Tiger Stone, which is Hajar Aswad with Tigerwood Royale, Tigerwood 1990, and Sultan's Rose. The added oils completely changed the composition into something new, and definitely for the better.

Well the Tigerlust 1990 and Homeros Ambre have both disappeared from the website...

That's what everybody wished for right? 🙃 They've got to take it down at some point, before catching more heat from people accusing them of using deceiving tactics. lol Maybe just renamed the "One Day" sales to "Winter Sales", preferably cover the entire season

Personally, I wish it would stay up much longer. Like at least month-long. LOL

Technically... they're not even the cheapest from the PREMIUM bracket; they're also a deal among the regular line. With the discount, they were USD999.00... which is the going price for the standard tier 50ml, no? The way I see it, Either of these bespoke editions (with a gram of quality oud added—especially Tigerwood 1990—beyond the standard PP concentration in pure tincture solution) was, indeed, a "sale."

Hmmm. I pulled the trigger on a bespoke (combined with a few other goodies I feared will soon disappear), but let's be honest: I'm more likely to be kicking myself when my credit card bill arrives. Sorry family, no presents this year!
Same. But I wasn't willing to pass up the chance at EO3 Kyara Ketone, as it was never supposed to be for sale online. And I've been after Homeros for the better part of a year on the secondary market, with no luck. Couldn't sleep on that one. We can gift our families with smelling fantastic 😬
