My IG 15ml and EO4 sample arrived today. I'm not a super regular EO customer but have spent my fair share over the last 3 years (8 30ml bottles, 6 or so travel sizes, about 6-7). Was a bit disappointed that I received samples for Hajar Aswad, Green Papua and EO1 Assam, each of which I own already. This would've been a chance for EO team to show me something new and possibly hook me back in (IG is my first purchase since February 2022). Ah well...

Anyhow, tested both EO4 and IG on my hand. IG is one of those scents that has an amazing scent bubble, I just don't like to smell it up too close. Very nice fragrance tho and perfect to have 15ml of. Looking forward to a full wear tomorrow.

EO4: Now, if I'd not have know that this aims for the Cola theme, I absolutely would have not identified that. I don't get it at all. I have to wear it again obviously but on first try it was just heavy on the animalic jasmine and a bit of oud. The davana, some spices and vanilla come through now but somehow it doesn't add up to a cola vibe for me. Also not Pepsi, vanilla coke or Dr Pepper. It doesn't smell bad but I don't see it in the EO line up... 🤷 But let's see again in a few days.

I’m with you on the included samples. I get the same ones each time. Looking forward to more of your thoughts on IG, as the 15ml is the next EO I’m on the fence about ordering.

100% agree with you on EO4.

What really bugs me tho is how some people insist that the cola note is recognisable for everyone….because it apparently is not. And i really dont get why, because smell is really subjectiv imo. EO 4 is nice, but in my case i still have to smell or drink a cola like it.

💯 Coffee and sugared rye bread. While I do Ike both of these things on its own, it's one of the few EOs I absolutely dislike. If I wouldn't be so lazy to mess around with selling and shipping stuff I'd have sold it months ago... 😅

I really enjoy it. How I would simplisticly describe from first full wear: juicy peach and berry ice tea, interlaced with sweaty musk, spices and a somewhat gourmand-ish backbone.

Really spot on imo. For me the blackcurrant is really prominent and the peach lurks more in the background….but overall a really good short summary.

My Oil of the Day is Aroha Kyaku, another discontinued gem from 2020. Meroke/Thai co distill that lacks the expected bright or fruity notes, this is smoke and shadows. No funk at open, just dark resinous incense and oud smoke. Drydown is nice, almost refreshing with maybe a hint of a dark wine or black currant. Going through rotation is fun, I never see it exactly the same twice.

Smelling my first sniff Oud Sultani: Kelantan. My first ever Oud Sultani. This scent is incredible at first sniff. A really thick, velvety purple curtain. Damn once you smelled it....you would spend that crazy price. Holy moly

Yeah true, I've done before, too. Was kind of sloppy and distracted when I ordered this time and didn't mention any sample requests in the comment section. Let's see if it'll be another year until I place my next order...

If you were forced to pick one, for example you have all three versions in a house that’s burning down, and you can only keep one of the versions of Oud Sultani, which would it be? I understand that they are very close together but for those that have multiple versions I am wondering how they would force rank the versions?

I think I would grab the OSK first, it is oudier and more masculine in the opening. Plus, mine has the leather jacket 😁😆

I got my OSK in the mail on Friday. I’m pissed…..that I didn’t get more of this stuff when I had the chance. I guess I did the right thing by not blind buying 2 bottles of this stuff. But it is excellent. I’ll be on the look out for the next Oud Sultani that is added to the series.

I'm not a fan of either one, they aren't bad by any means but just weren't green enough or foresty enough for me personally.

I did just get IG, and I’m having a hard time figuring it out, lol. It’s strong, and I definitely get florals, animalics, and spice….a sweaty almost cumin like spice. The sweatiness reminds me of some what I get from EO Tibet. And I do like it! I don’t find it as creamy or buttery as I read in lots of reviews, but I’m getting really juicy wafts of dark but bright fruitiness! It’s one of those perfumes that smell completely different up close than the more distant wafts, and I love that! It’s only been a couple hours, so looking forward to some drydown aspects.

It was nice to get a few samples from my IG purchase, and the EO team was very generous and considerate of my requests in the comments section. The EO 4 is nice. Not sure I get cola from it, but I think it’s got some nice similarities to AA Agar attar, but softer and sweeter. I’m thinking now I’d like to try and see what all the Oud Sultani offerings are about…..although finding some samples may be difficult. Also might need to offer up some goodies and see if theres any hits on the swap in our marketplace.

I’ve made a test swipe of it on my arm and it lasted the whole day.

The smell of it is pretty similar to the perfume, just a little bit more oudy in the opening.

You’ll also get a nice little load of ambergris in the bottom of the bottle

EO4 smells like a pretty standard issue indie offering. I’m kind of surprised Ensar would even release this as a flagship scent in the EO line especially with the likes of EO1/2.

Is my nose not developed enough to understand this fragrance? For a thousand dollars I expected something alittle more elevated. I don’t get any cola. Just bland standard florals you can smell on any number of indie fragrances in the $150-250 range.

I like 4, again reminds me of some Agar Auras. Maybe priced a little high for 1,000 at 50ml….but close enough I guess for me. Lasts forever on me too! No cola, but woody and spicy.

I almost smell a faint trace of woody ambers and I’m unusually sensitive to those. I even got a headache from smelling this. First time an EO scent has given me a headache.
