Wow, to not even let the person have the emotion and a thought - different level...

Its normal to have emotions, even if they manifest in a more wicked form of trying to hit a woman and whats more normal is that his pre frontal cortex is working as it should. We look at that situation alone and not case before, which can significantly shift our judgement of his thought process and reaction.
Furthermore - what keeps people from going insane and actually doing what they think is conversation, live or online, and get some feedback, to reflect bqck and correct yourself in the future. That is normal conditioning.
All that disconnect from reality blah blah blah is bunch of bs. Some people learn from experience of others, some need to experience things first hand. Such is the reality of life, regardless how advanced or barbarous we are....
Conditioning is when we start to remove freedom of thought and speech, instead of correcting and educating them.

The problem I have with this line of thinking is the shame game. It's so easy, especially now to jump in and express huge opinions of someone else's words and vilify them based on things they might have said. I obviously agree that no one should punch a woman. I will never hit a woman, and I would only hit another person in self defense if my life or a loved one's was in danger. But I want to see the best in people and not attribute negative connotations towards them for thoughts they had, that they didn't act upon.

Me too. But who's being intolerant here, I wonder? Live and let live, Ifti.
No worries - I just felt it best in the interest of the whole community here - seems to reflect poorly?
Not to labour - lol we'll be getting into that spiral of is freedom of speech expression / freedom to offend and all that jazz matazz ! But we do have to be able to question and scrutinise and prod no? I guess few of us are well versed in that deep field of thought (bar slpfrsly!) to carry on without letting our emotions get in the way! I think whoever weighed in here all just wanted to make this a nicer place that's all.

Just got back from a trip to the Bahamas. I decided to take a 10mL sprayer decant of Original Vetiver, which was, of course, securely packaged and placed in a ziploc baggie; this attracted much interest from security, who pulled it out and faddled with it during secondary screening. Someone must have jiggled something loose, as the entire thing came open during transit, spreading Vetiver all around the inside of my carryon. Lesson learned! Next time I'm taking the Burlington 1819, so I can stick my head in my carryon and inhale citrusy bliss after unpleasant security screenings.
Is that from a normal glass or plastic decant, or a proper travel atomiser? I'd definitely recommend the latter (particularly Tom Ford's, they're very affordable for the quality/compared to other atomisers) to avoid this happening again.

If that's true then I envy the charmed life you must have led for this - an annoying dispute with customer service/low level bureaucracy - to be one of the most negatively emotive experiences you've ever had. As annoying as this situation sounds, it's just a fragrance; it's not important in the grand scheme of things.
Exactly. It was a bottle of smelly liquid. Get over it. It's not worth engaging in literal violence.

Slightly off topic here, but I fondly remember in 1998, when first arriving at the airport when moving from Chicago to Sacramento, meeting a pilot and several flight attendants standing around talking. They notice a watch I was wearing, and commented on it. We chatted a little while, and they invited me up to the airport traffic control tower for a tour of how it all works. The pilot patiently explained things, and I will never forget what a thrill that experience was! Now, I'm just happy to not be pulled over for a detailed baggage check, which has happened to me several times.

Sweet! Reminds me of my little niece. Waiting in a hotel lounge and the crew were coming/going. Man she was all made up with them tipping their hats at her and saying hello!

The issue is that those words reflect a level of emotion that is not exactly reasonable. It's a bottle of perfume. It's not worth the level of emotion that would stir up that kind of anger.

I remember flying coach to Boston on what I recall was Trans World Airlines (TWA as a child. They served eggs, bacon, toast, juice and of course coffee. This was served on nice plates, with real glasses and silverware (or stainless steel). I also remember cloth napkins. Wow, how times have changed.

I am travelling to Portugal this weekend and was reminded of this thread when reading the small print of my check in process.

Some airlines are now specifically stating that Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb (and I'd assume it's flankers) is not permitted in carry on or checked luggage 😂

Your post made me think, and honestly I just skipped over it in my mind blocking it out (like clicking the fast-forward-10-seconds on Netflix whenever there's a big brawl (happens a lot)). There's so much violence in the media/entertainment/news that I've begun to ignore it? Not saying it's right or good! I was a bit shocked that I had breezed over it, and I never assumed that the OP was serious, just angry, despite the way he expressed it.
I have never hit or physically attacked anyone in my whole life. I'm 68 years old now. I don't know why I'm being criticised so viciously by slpfrsly ???
The thread was meant to help fellow basenoters, (warning against these new machines for testing liquids).
There are some mischievous basenoters and there and there are a handful of nasty guys intent on disrupting threads and mobbing.
Thanks to respectful, intelligent members like saminlondon for seeing what's going on and getting involved.

Does any of you gentlemen really know David? He said something in his fury against an incompetent clerk and you really take it for granted? It’s an expression for God’s shake and some became immediately the protectors of the “endangered” sex.
David is a person of enormous kindness and couldn’t hurt a butterfly. Just stop with this bullshit.

This all goes down to me expressing being non-religious in my avatar.
