A good alternative to Amyris Homme?

Hello,

I recently sampled Amyris Homme by MFK and enjoyed it. I was not overly impressed, but it is a pleasant scent for sure, and I feel it is very appropriate for sunny spring/summer days OR summer evenings without going to the classic aquative or citrus based scent.

However, it feel like I pay for the brand and not for the juice (not really looking for decant either).

Do you have something similar for better pricetag (niche or designer)? Something that combines aromatic features in the opening and gets smoother and more depth in the drydown? When I sprayed it I thought of Allure Homme Sport Extreme which I like but am not overly fond of mint as note. Fragrantica also suggests Chic for Men bu Caroline Herrera and Cerruti for men but they seem hard to get nose on.

Thank you for the tip :)

Perhaps Black Extreme by Mandarina Duck?

Cerruti pour homme is indeed very similar, only with a more pronounced citrus accord. If you can find it, would be probably the best option. But since Cerruti is discontinued, I'm not sure what the price is going to be. Might as well just get the 1.2oz or 3x0.37oz set of Amyris Homme instead.

According to Fragrantica, Joop! Jump smells similar to Cerruti for men which smells similar to Amyris. I've never smelled it so can't say... but it's worth a try I guess.

It's a near-perfect blend of fresh and gourmand. One of my favorites. Not sure what smells like it. Pieces of other scents, but nothing matches it as a whole IMO.

Thanks all for the quick replys

This is a good possibility and shouldn't be difficult to find a bottle of.

Haven't found it in stores unfortunately.. And I have a phobia for buying blind. Never done it, even for 20$...

Will keep an eye on mandarina duck, unfortunately I can't find it in any stores either and, as I told Hednic, will not buy blind (found a bottle for 22$, but still). I am stubbord but this is something I am not comfortable with :/

Not similar scent but similar ‘personality’ —

Allure Homme
Platinum Egoiste

Yes allure homme sport comes pretty close (owned it many years ago). Remember liking but not loving platinum egoiste, but this was a few years ago might have to check again thanks

Interesting, never tried any Joop! :)

That is good that you love it! It is sure well blended and nice, unfortunately I am picky and if I am ready to put the buck into it, it has to offer me something more...

Amyris Homme is probably cheaper if you buy it direct from the MFK store. MFK bottles and caps are particularly high quality. That's never a reason to buy the juice in my opinion, but it's one heck of a nice bonus. Some houses really get the presentation right.

Allure Homme

Definitely - especially if you're looking for something to wear on dates. They smell different but have a similar vibe.

He was recommending Allure Homme, not Allure Homme Sport. It's a different scent. Check it out if you get the chance.

If I'd by a similar dna scent it would be more for easy sunny days (spring/summer - not high heat - fall), not really date scent (for that I prefer to have something a bit richer)
But hey thanks for tipping me off for the official mfk prices! For some reasons I looked elsewhere and it was much more expense.
On MFK, they ask 130 euros for 70 which is muck more reasonable.

And thank you for the heads up, indeed I've taken Allume homme sport as granted for some reason but will have to get back to the orginal (has been a while...)

I think what you're going to find is that none of these other "close" ones will really smell or perform or fill those shoes. If you truly like the fragrance, sometimes you just gotta go for it. You might think you're paying for the brand and not the juice, but that's exactly why nothing else is quite like it. Otherwise, yeah, you can go for something in the same vein or the same genre...maybe that's good enough, but they just won't be Amyris. I'm not even a big fan of Amyris myself, but couldn't name one that smells like it.

Here's a thought that may seem out of left field... but... have you tried any of these?

Montblanc Individuel

Moschimo Uomo?

Geir Ness For Men

None of them smell the same as Amyris, but they're all in the ballpark in one way or another, and they're very affordable. Uomo? probably comes closest (yes, the question mark is part of the name), but it's a bit fresher. Individuel is probably the most high quality of the three, and it's particularly good in cooler weather. Geir Ness costs around $60 I think. Individuel and Uomo? can be had for under $25.

Montblanc Individuel I do know and like, I do not know Uomo?, will take a look if I can sample it somewhere! Sam for Geir Ness (never heard of it!)
And thanks for the Xerjoff suggestion, but I believe (although I haven;t checked) that one will be even more expensive :)

Deltasun: you're right, the reason I ask is because I enjoy but not entirely in love. When I really love something then I'll be willing to pay the price (did for a 100ml NY intense for instance). Good thing is, as suggested by l"homme blanc individuel, I saw that MFK does 35ml bottles. Could be a good alternative!

I getcha and that 35ml is a great option. Incidentally, Moschino Uomo? is one of my favorite cheapies ever, so worth trying anyway.
