Looking through my perfume cabinet, I came up with this list of 10:
1. Antaeus/Antaeus Sport
2. Ho Hang Club
3. Polo
4. Egoiste/Egoiste Concentree/Bois Noir
5. Givenchy Gentleman
6. Jules
7. Patou Pour Homme
8. Escada Pour Homme
9. Bel Ami
10. Calvin

Notable absentees because I have so much of them:
1. Fahrenheit
2. Chanel Pour Monsieur

And 3. Moschino Pour Homme would normally make these lists.

Chanel Pour Monsieur and Moschino Pour Homme would round out the top 12.

Guerlain Apres l'Ondee EDT
Guerlain Vol de Nuit EDT
Chanel Pour Monsieur EDT
Chanel No 19 EDT (vintage)
Chanel Platinum Egoiste
Givenchy Insense
YSL Rive Gauche PH
Rochas Globe
Papillon Dryad
Byredo Bal d'Afrique

But this is today's list and it would probably already be very different tomorrow! It feels a bit criminal to be excluding gems like vintage Azzaro PH, Guerlain Mitsouko EDP, Penhaligon's Sartorial and Trumper Eucris EDT!

  1. AdP - Colonia (emotional reasons - important at a certain stage of my life)
  2. Floris - Santal (emotional reasons - important at a certain stage of my life)
  3. Creed - Green Irish Tweed - classic mans scent - although quality can be hit and miss
  4. Knize Ten - The leather
  5. Creed - Aventus Cologne - perfect sport scent
  6. Amouge - Enclave - a personal favourite
  7. Tom Ford - Oud Wood - perfect businessman scent
  8. Tom Ford - Tobacco Vanille - Date / night scent
  9. Bois Imperial - cheap yet quality workhorse.
  10. Among Myths Man. For when I don't care about anyone else's perception
I think I might add latest purchase Haltane to it. Two days in it is intriguing.

The rest I could get rid off. And I must have close to 100 currently.

by Kilian - Straight to Heaven
SHL777 - Generation Man 2022
Chanel - Eau de Cologne
Chanel - Egoiste

Xerjoff - Nio

Ten ? Only considering FBs, that's tough.
Current choice reflects scents I wear in public on a daily basis, rather than scents for more special occasions.

Guerlain Vetiver
Bottega Veneta pH EdT
Caron Yatagan
Jacomo de Jacomo
CdG Black
Etro Gomma
Knize Ten
Hermes Bel Ami
Hermes Equipage
Guerlain Heritage EdT

FBs hammering on the door, demanding to know why they didn't make the cut :

RL Polo (don't make me choose)
Cacharel pour l'Homme (summer alternative to Guerlain Vetiver; almost as necessary)
Etro Palais Jamais (Guerlain Vetiver gets more use);
Etro Vetiver (CdG Black kinda covers this),
Etro Patchouly EdT (love it but can't shake hippyish associations of patchouli)
Etro Shaal Nur, Etro Ambra, Etro Heliotrope (evenings/nights only).
Hermes Equipage Geranium

That's more than half my Collection already. There's very little redundancy in the FBs.

Indignant samples/decants :
Unum Io Non Ho Mani; Tauer LADDM; Papillon Anubis; Boucheron Jaipur EdP (evenings/nights/solitary enjoyment only)

These lists are really impossible for me, but I'll give it a try off the top of my head, and in no particular order:
-Jubilation XXV, non-magnetic cap
-Dia Man, non-magnetic cap
-CC 1872
-Millesime Imperial
-Santal Imperial
-Nio, preferably older bottle
-Kilian Apple Brandy
-Dior Homme Intense, silver collar
-Serge Luten Santal de Mysore
-Mugler Ultra Zest

From that list... Jubilation, 1872, and Millesime Imperial are locked in as I love them and they also have sentimental value as special gifts. Literally everything else could easily be interchanged with others from my wardrobe. By limiting to only 10, I didn't even get into vintage fragrances that I never want to be without. Also, there are fragrances new to me (like Ensar Oud's Chypre Narcotique) that are steadily creeping up the charts. For me, it's more realistic to come up with a Top 50 or Top 100.

  • Tom Ford Beau du Jour - for Sunday mornings and special occasions.
  • Dior Fahrenheit - never goes out of style; a good all-rounder and my violet fix.
  • Ralph Lauren Polo - for work meetings and nostalgia.
  • Penhaligon Sartorial - for a touch of fun modernism without losing the versatility.
  • Hermes Terre d’Hermes Parfum - could easily go with another TdH variant or something like Sycamore or Grey Vetiver for my vetiver fix.
  • Hermes Equipage Geranium - I’d want something with geranium on the list; it was between this and Malle’s Geranium Pour Monsieur.
  • Aramis Tobacco Reserve - my wife’s favorite.
  • Czech & Speake Cuba - for a bit of spice; Pure Havane or Aramis Havana could also work here.
  • JPG Kokorico - wanted to add something a bit quirky and a touch gourmand; thought about LIDGE or Hanae Mori H.M. here.
  • Tom Ford Ombre Leather - lots of great options in this category for me (Gucci Guilty Absolute, for instance), but I like that this is something my wife pulls off quite well.
Not quite making the cut:
  • Something fun and easy-going for summer, like Caron PuH Sport or AdP Colonia Club.
  • A rose- or carnation-forward fragrance, such as Boucheron Pour Homme or Moschino Toy Boy.
  • More violet a la Mancera Aoud Violet or Brioni Eau de Parfum.
  • A super-versatile modern clean scent with some character, like Mugler Alien Man, Jack Black JB, or Aventus.
  • A cold-weather staple, such as A*men or Malle’s Noir Epices.
  • Something “old school” a la Azzaro PH, Caron Third Man, Boss Number One, or Versace L’Homme.

In addition to so many great replies, showcasing numerous outstanding classics, also mentioning from a personal viewpoint alone, in no particular order:

Aramis Tuscany
Penhaligon's Blenheim Bouquet
Sartorial from the same aforementioned house
Halston Z14
Ungaro III
Chanel Antaeus
Eau Sauvage
Knize Ten
Armani Eau pour Homme
Grey Flannel

And though still appreciating the remaining wardrobe very much, the lineup of aforementioned basics would (at least for now) cover the vast majority of scent related cravings as well as interest, enjoyments etc. with little to no effort.

A trying list that surely will deviate. This is so hard for me since my collection is broad... So many to mention, so many neglected. Certainly, this is all pending more on season, mood and nostalgia... Anyhow, off the top of the head and definitely and defensively not set in stone.

Pascal Morabito Or Black - Hopefully one day I shall revisit the original through Lady Luck rather than reminisce my late Uncle's main whiff. The 2014 is the one I own and merely a fantastic rendition that brings the Azzaro Pour Homme disco anise parting hairs with Barbarsol grease in a newer pared down accord. Also brings to mind a bit of Fahrenheit (the same perfumer) tempered with YSL Rive Gauche... Lovely stuff!

Paloma Picasso Minotaure - Barely there in my collection with a final bottle from the heyday and probably the last time for me due to the present formulation. Minotaure was my first major signature from roughly 1992-2003; a classy oriental santal-vanille tinged with fruity flair that truly made me a sonar on the 90's dance-floor... Sentimental fave that will soon turn all that lust to dust.

Etro Palais Jamais - Another one that is on the cusp since I'm on the final 40ml from once again another heyday. It is getting very difficult to find on this side of the globe, maybe easier in Europe... An earthy green tea in hay effect ushering in spring fever and closing with an autumn roll.

Givenchy Eau de Vetyver/Vetyver/ Les Parfums Mythiques-Vetyver - The greatest classy bespoke vetiver in my books... Now available as a Givenchy website exclusive on select country sites (France and USA), unfortunately not mine... I'm living with another last bottle and since I generally don't back-up anymore, it is mine to lose once again.

Loris Azzaro Acteur - Fashionably late at the tail-end of the '80's with unfashionably spicy baroque red wine layered in a musty leather amber nuance that is heavenly. Another one that will hit my personal crypt in due course due to scarcity though a few splashes float on eBay's dreary waters and possibly here in the Basenotes Marketplace with select aficionados.

Jacomo de Jacomo -An ashen leather-vanille effect that is all barbershop class in the blue printed flask and not bad at all in its present, though I must say, I haven't tried the newer cap, only the prior flimsy lighter flip and original.

Aramis Havana - A cool classy burley tobacco given a bay rum shake and a fine masculine signature, period.

Lalique Encre Noire à l'Extrême - Probably the closest I have come to a modern signature and one of the finest vetiver accords in this century... I love the entire line but this one has a sensual depth given the sandalwood and benzoin finish that rings my bell.

Frapin Bois Blanc - A woody aromatic of ginger cool and creamy timber, slightly tarry and sweetly tinged.

Ormonde Jayne Man - An ethereal gauzy blend of woody panache...

CoSTUME NATIONAL Scent Intense - A witch's brew of cardamon tea garnished in jasmine sambac, rose and hibiscus plumminess that beats like woody amber leather... Sexy, intimate and compliment kind that walks right on the gender line.

Oh boy!! Yes, another month, another season, probably another ten, haha!
