Love the banner graphic on your profile. It looks a bit like Missoni -- the knitwear, not the perfume you dislike. :)
  2. Synchronized Fridays 2021

I'm usually anti-chocolate in perfumes too, but somehow this one works for me with the tropical oranges. Maybe because it reminds me of those break-apart Terry's chocolate oranges that you can get at Christmas, which I adore.
  3. Your Vintage Scent of the Day (SOTD)

    No sweat. ;)
  4. Synchronized Fridays 2021

I can't think of many smells I associate with Halloween, except maybe candy. Pumpkin doesn't really have any smell until you spice it up for pie. And bobbing for apples disappeared eons ago as a Halloween party game. I think the only candy-like scent I have is the 2006 version of Missoni EDP...
  5. Your Vintage Scent of the Day (SOTD)

So what does it smell like?
  6. Tea

This thread is making my mouth water! Especially Andy's list of scents. I don't think I even realized there were so many tea scents.
  7. Which fragrance did you look at first when you opened your eyes today?

Another listicle just popped up today: https://basenotes.com/threads/when-you-forget.519894/ A perfect candidate for "Find a thread about the scent, and post your thoughts there."
  8. Which fragrance did you look at first when you opened your eyes today?

Seems to me it's covering the same ground as Sample of the Day. I hope this new policy also covers "Why I'm particularly enjoying my scent today...", which is just info that could go into the SOTD thread. The most common information given there is "because it's one of my favorites."...
  9. Your Vintage Scent of the Day (SOTD)

Today is a Red Letter Day for me. After five years of thinking I was never going to find another affordable bottle of the original Sycomore EDT, a fellow Basenoter offered me hers for a non-extortionate price. And now my 200ml bottle has a sibling, so with a little caution my ~260mls might...
  10. Which fragrance did you look at first when you opened your eyes today?

YES! A thousand thanks, Grant! This is so going to improve the forums. And I heartily endorse Andy's suggestion about applying the same scythe to the purchase threads.
  11. Your Vintage Scent of the Day (SOTD)

Just a quiet day sitting around the house, pretending to be Messalina, wife of the Emperor Claudius. It went pretty well, except for that one misbegotten servant who brought plums for lunch instead of figs. But he won't be doing that ever again.
  12. Perfume Advent Calendars for Christmas

And Dior, for half the price of the Chanel: https://www.dior.com/en_us/products/beauty-Y0996350_C400100133?gclid=CjwKCAjw_L6LBhBbEiwA4c46uouQUGz0Vn4hGsC1b_Af1_bKCMg5mq7FfDstrVPjyz3lTei1jcImahoCKRcQAvD_BwE It's so snooty the way none of these fragrance websites tell you what's *in* the damn...
  13. Comparing Azzaro Acteur, Van Cleef & Arpels pour Homme and Alain Delon Iquitos.

I absolutely hate this debate. It makes my head hurt. And I always feel queasy passing judgment on the behavior of someone that I have never known personally, and who, unlike a politician, has no effect on my private life. I love the movies of Roman Polanski, but I don't go around bragging...
  14. Suggestion Directory search doesn't allow partial brand names

Ditto. Gallery view is for wusses.
  15. how many shoes should a man have?

That shade of olive barely qualifies as green. They're almost grey.
  16. Vanilla Diorama by Christian Dior

    Heathen! 🐍
  17. Vanilla Diorama by Christian Dior

I'm kind of hoping it's been left out on purpose.
  18. New Tom Ford: Ébèné Fumé

Ébèné Fumé Sorry, that's just too many accent marks.
  19. Your Vintage Scent of the Day (SOTD)

I only have the EDT of Diorling, I'll bet the parfum is .
