Green Lover by Lolita Lempicka

This is so weird and unique that I go back and forth deciding if I like it or not. At the very least, you have to try it.

The smell is mostly warm vanilla but with a green, fizzy, minty orange sherbet citrus that provides quite the contrast.

I could see this working as a compliment-getter just because it draws you in as you don't know what to make of it, but none of it smells bad. You can't stop sniffing like it's a puzzle you need to solve.

Projects for 4-5 hours and lasts for most of the workday. Solid performance.

Drakkar Essence by Guy Laroche

The opening is very synthetic (on the cheap side), citrus-clean. The drydown is nicer, soapier, and still retains a bit of the fresher, citrus opening.

Not offensive or bad-smelling in any way but this ultimately smells cheap to my nose. Good for daytime/office wear but there are better smells for the same or even less money.

Perry Man by Perry Ellis

More unique than I anticipated.

Perry Man starts off with some masculine spice/pepper and citrus but has a clean, almost soapy finish. It's not sweet, seductive, or hyper-modern, but it doesn't smell dated to me either and is ultimately a nice, pleasant scent. Should be good for daytime wears and is light and pleasant enough to be a daily work scent.

I get decent performance with solid projection during the first couple of hours. Sticks around for 6-7 hours on clothes.

9pm by Afnan

9pm is a big, loud UltraMale-like scent, which means it smells and performs like the JPG original. I find the opening less fruity-sweet than UltraMale, so I slightly prefer the original to 9pm, but this is very close and very good.

Big projection that lasts most all day. Can get cloying so go easy on sprays.

Invictus Aqua (2018) by Paco Rabanne

Yes, the 2018 version is the lesser between this and the original launch formulation, but the 2018 is a very acceptable clone or stand-in. I like Hawas and it does perform better, but I feel like this 2018 Invictus Aqua smells closest to the original. They (Hawas and 2018) are just about the same price depending on where you look now.

Back to performance. 2018 isn't loud but it does project enough to get a compliment in the same room and it lasts about 6-7 hours on skin. Not bad. Spray on clothes if you want better longevity.

Tank Battle by Gorilla Perfume [Lush]

Hippy bubble gum. A very interesting and unique fragrance. The main notes are bubblegum and patchouli, so it's like popping in a fresh piece of gum while in a headshop. It also has a green, watery feel to it in the background to give it some added depth.

I get very good performance on my skin with impressive projection during the first few hours and then longevity that lasts most of the day.

Remember Me by Jovoy

Remember Me is a perfectly unisex, sexy/seductive/soft fragrance that focuses on iris and cardamom. Feels best for formal and nighttime events but that's just my preference. It possesses both a dark and refined feel that makes it lean more on the serious side. It is odd that iris is not listed in the notes since it seems to be the loudest note present to my nose.

Performance is excellent as it projects strongly and lasts all day, 10+ hours.

Mistpouffer by Stora Skuggan

Mistpouffer starts with pine, like sticky pine tar. Very bright, natural, and with a nice green bite. Has me thinking of Polo Green. As it dries down, it becomes more creamy and smooth with some spice.

It does have an aftershave-like or even a classic Fougere feel to me, especially in the drydown, maybe a little in the realm of Old Spice. I prefer this for daytime wears.

I get nice projection and excellent longevity, even with just a few sprays.

Nectarine Blossom & Honey by Jo Malone London

Very pleasant and likable as a daytime/office scent. Heavy fem leaning to me, so I agree with the female designation. Packed with a good mix of sweet citrus and pleasing florals that ends up reminding me of peachy/apricot smells, Nectarine Blossom & Honey is easy to like, provided you are not trying to impress a fragrance snob. I say that because it doesn't smell particularly natural, rich or opulent, despite the retail price. That being said, I like this very much as it evokes a clean, happy, light scent that one should enjoy wearing and also smelling on others.

Projection is just average but I found longevity to be pretty good, lasting most of the day.

Scarlet Poppy by Jo Malone London

I love when my wife wears this and associate it with her, so I have some bias. The standout note here is the iris, which does bring back some positive associations with Dior Homme/Intense and Valentino Uomo for me. I think that's why I like it so much because it feels like the truly female version of those scents.

Scarlet Poppy is powdery soft with plenty of pleasant florals. It's not super sweet but has just enough sweetness to smell modern and somewhat playful. Meanwhile, the powdery iris gives this a little maturity without going into old lady territory.

Performance is excellent as it lasts all day and really projects during the first 4-5 hours.

Meander by Amouage

Slightly green, earthy sandalwood opening. I also get a little lemon citrus but don't see anything like that listed. The drydown tones down the green notes and focus on the earthy sandalwood, which is pretty pleasant. Sandalwood is the main note and does have some resemblance to Wonderwood in the late drydown. Feels unisex to me.

With minimal sprays, I get strong projection and all-day longevity.

Bitter Peach by Tom Ford

My wife owns and loves her bottle of Bitter Peach. For me, I like when she wears it but it's not my favorite. It's definitely fem-leaning to me, but mostly, this is an experience scent. You need to smell this if you like interesting scents. It's a very floral, powdery, peach soda. Nothing bitter about it, really. Does get musky in the late drydown but, still pleasant.

Bitter Peach puts out a big scent cloud that lasts for 2-3 hours. Settles down after that and lasts about 6 hours on skin.

Uomo Silver Essence by Roberto Cavalli

Sweet, a little spicy and packing a decent amount of powdery iris. Has that dark, sweet, sexy feel like Valentino Uomo or DHI but with the volume turned down on the powdery iris. The sweetness reminds me of something like the cherry amaretto I get from Guerlain L'Homme Ideal.

This brings us to performance. Uomo Silver Essence has performed really well for me at times but then can also get overpowered by other smells. I've worn for a night out and it was hard to detect most of the night but at work, this really pushed hard, filling hallways. Seems to work best in cooler temps.

Vétiver / Vetiver by Provence Santé

This is refined vetiver. Not sweet and more on the smokey/earthy side of vetiver, but this is clean, pleasant, professional, and very versatile for daytime wearings.

Never loud, unless over-sprayed. However, it's not shy either and you can smell it throughout the day.

Mandorlo Cioccolato by Perfumes by Terri

Some citrus in the opening but mostly this is a floral, powdery chocolate/vanilla. There's a similar chocolate/vanilla theme in everything I've tried from this line. The late drydown reveals an animalic note to go along with the smooth choco/vanilla.

All that I've tried from this range is parfum strength and perform relatively the same, meaning they last all day and don't get too loud unless heavily sprayed.

Santal Blush by Tom Ford

A fem-leaning, flowery and airy sandalwood with a good dose of spice via the interesting note of cumin. Starts with a fruity-soft peach but that fades quickly. The sandalwood is of the chemical Javanol variety, but it is quite soft from the usual heavy, creamy sandalwood that I usually get Javanol with.

Doesn't smell super strong up close on skin but it hangs and lingers in the air via some aromachemical molecule magic. I'd call that more sillage than projection. Lasts all day and others might smell it more than you.

Bentley Infinite Rush by Bentley

Has some similarities with specific notes that I also get from Bentley for Men Intense. However, this is more clean, casual, and sweeter. It's not a sweet scent but it is sweeter than Bentley for Men Intense. Missing the big incense and leather that I think really draws people to that scent. But again, has some similarities and definitely is using that DNA.

Projection is average/good, easily detectable during wearings. Longevity should be good for work but not much beyond that. In the 7-8 hour range.

Sucré et Fleurs by Kyse Perfumes

Nice, well-blended floral vanilla. Slightly fem but correctly named unisex. Feels more like a room scent than a personal scent but it smells very nice.

What I like is that up close, the floral notes are sweet and pleasant and don't smell like a funeral home. The vanilla is also very nice up close. However, in the air, this vanilla smells rubbery/oily. I get that sometimes from cheaper vanilla scents where it leaves this vanilla residue that no longer smells all that great.

The projection is good without being loud and it seems to last all day.

Oui Plus! by Kyse Perfumes

To me, this smells like Kahlua right out of the sprayer. It seems by the marketing like it is supposed to resemble S'mores. My wife said she thought the opening smelled like caramel corn being made.

As it dries down, it becomes more of a vanilla coffee, but like the notes say, the coffee is burned. My wife picked up on the burned notes, but it was more of a cigar tobacco to her.

The syrupy sweetness and heaviness lend this to cooler temps, so I cannot recommend as a versatile scent.

All day longevity and enough projection to get noticed without having to get too close.

AB Spirit Millionaire Black Rose by Lomani

Smells like a slightly more feminine and floral-spicy version of Moschino Toy Boy but not as fresh. Otherwise, they are pretty close. Millionaire Black Rose deviates in the late drydown where the rose goes away and I get a darker, sweeter vanilla/chocolate mixed with oud.

I get very good performance with plenty of projection and longevity in the 8-9 hour range.

Eau de Vetyver by L'Occitane

A very accessible, almost modern vetiver in the opening. Has some nutmeg sweetness that I enjoy very much to go along with the sharper, cleaner, and greener vetiver. As it dries down, becomes more gentlemanly and mature. Has a barbershop, and maybe more of an Old Spice, feel in the drydown.

I enjoyed wearing this all day. Outside weather was hot while it was very cool at the office. It worked well with both, so I consider this a versatile, daytime scent.

Projection was decent, making its way up to my nose without too much effort while longevity was good, last all workday.

Elégance Sombre by Kyse Perfumes

Citrus mixed with cocoa and bitter greens in the opening. The drydown is very interesting with creamy chocolate mixed with animalic notes. This is dark and serious but feels unisex throughout because there is some sweetness.

It's a bit heavy for warm days, so feels better for cooler temps. Projection is good and longevity is very good.

Vanille Debauche by Perfumes by Terri

Starts with soft, candied fruit vanilla. That scent reminds me of scented children's toys from my past, specifically my sisters' Strawberry Shortcake dolls that had a certain smell. That scent remains throughout but as it dries down, it becomes more interesting with more of the bourbon, tobacco, and woody notes coming through. The woody notes come across a bit weathered, which is interesting.

Overall, this feels a little juvenile, probably because of my association to the past, but I do like this.

The projection is solid, even getting noticed outdoors by my wife. It's probably better in cooler temps but I don't find it heavy. It's just very sweet. Lasts about 6-7 hours.
