Brooks Otterlake's Review of Sheikh Al Faransi by Abdul Karim Al Faransi

It's always the spectacular stuff that leaves me without adequate words.

Structurally, Sheikh Al Faransi is not hard to describe: potent, salty ambergris is woven into a floral-oud skeleton. But the joy here is not in the intricacy of the structure but in the precision and depth with with which it's crafted.

The shimmering ambergris, in particular, is so satisfying that it's a revelation unto itself.
