French designer, Andrée Putman, dies aged 87

French designer, Andrée Putman died at the week end, she was 87. Although Putman was famous for designed interiors for luxury stores, revamping the Concorde interior and creating the concept of the boutique hotel, she is perhaps best known amongst perfume fans for her fragrance, Préparation Parfumée.

The fragrance was launched in 2001 in a collaboration with perfumer, Olivia Giacobetti , and has become a cult favourite. Her funeral will be held tomorrow at the Eglise Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris.
